Hello all
I have been a bit of a 'lurker' I suppose you would call it as I have normally found the info I have been looking for on other peoples posts!!
Anyone out there with a Sturtmoor Safari Hot Spark pony? I have a 5yo part bred who is a real hot spark. Wondering if this runs in the line? Fletcher (Pikeshill Pignal) is a real bully in the field but a right wuss to do anything with! Sacred of his shadow...
Here he is as I know everyone loves a piccie! (I hope this works)
That is one very smart and handsome pony! Is he 'part-bred' due to mum being unregistered, or is he really part-bred i.e. crossed with something else? How big is he?

Thanks everyone!
He is about 14.2 at the moment although yesterday OH was watching me lunge him and said he still looked a bit bum high so I guess he could grow on a bit more yet. I have 4 ponies at the moment so forgive me for not remembering all of their breeding! Will have to look at passport this eve. (Out of interest other 3 are Knightsway Billy Boys)
He is 'part bred' as I suspect his dam was unregistered. I showed him to Cindy Sims and she thinks he is full bred and I should have dna etc done. But... I am not that interested in showing him so it doesnt bother me!
Since the lunge photo I turned him away as he had a really uncoordinated gait at trot (worse when ridden) which I had previously put down to his age, growing etc. Then I took him into Endells and had his back xrayed which showed something close to a kissing spine, but not quite. His longness in the back doesnt help him.... So now we are bringing him back slowly, currently he looks pregnant (where is all of this grass coming from?!?). I will endeavour to take some more pictures when I have given him a tidy up and shifted some pounds off of him!

Hi, I also have a Hot Spark baby. Mine's now 13yrs old and was gelded at 6 after running on the forest for 4 years. He has a wonderful temperament and is now almost completely white/grey having been a gorgeous dapple during his younger years. Good luck with yours,he's gorgeous!
Hello and welcome. What a lovely pony, shame he's not fully registered.
I have a mare by Knightway Billy Boy.

I also have a lad by him. He is 12 now and although he has always been nervous he has a very laid back temprament. I'm hoping that he will retain his beautiful dapply colouring but I expect that eventually he will go white grey.
Would certainly consider another by Sparky if I could fit one in!
He certainly looks pure NF - a proper old fashioned stamp of Forester, even the long back which I was always told was desired by the old Commoners as plenty of room for an 18" saddle for larger male bums unlke the current fashion for more short coupled more akin to a Section D. I like, a lot, and would think that plaited and trimmed he would do well in plaited workers/hunter pony classes

Too true Tina about the short coupled fashion... We have a 14.2 section D ride and drive who is out on loan at the moment who is a decent weight carrier but his back is soo short we can only fit him a 16.5" saddle. How many adults fit in it? Not many I tell you! The girl who has him at the moment is a good 5'9 - 5'10 and her poor knees do suffer I reckon.
