And this is Fritham Nell who had her own foal this year. She lives out most of the time. Loads of character and very friendly. She was backed last year with no saddle and no bridle and didn't bat an eyelid.
I think it also says a lot for the way that the Hankinson's bring up their Fritham offspring.
Thats a lovely picture Sarah, and very nice ponies above bred by Billy boy too! He has a great temperment which he passes down, especially good bone, lovely head and just makes a very nice picture. He was lead out onto the forest for me to do a portrait of him, and was really well behaved. Real good ol' forest pony type.
If you go on the classified, then on the left hand menu, click on 'show mulitple photos', then click below the image to full size it, that is full of pictures of Billy Boy during his photo shoot
.

Who is Fritham Nell out of Sarah? I agree I love the Hankinsons, such a lovely couple...
Ozzie's absolutely gorgeous and has filled out loads (struggling to keep the weight off him). Recently he's been going through an adolescent phase and testing my confidence quite a lot though.
Lucky he's so gentle and well-mannered in-hand, and brilliant out hacking, otherwise I could go off him sometimes!

Nelly's mum was Fritham Dixie. Nelly was originally sold as a foal to a lady in Arlesford. She was only turned out again when she was four and it was just coincidence that I turn out at Fritham. The Hankinsons were delighted to see her.

Mandy, what has that little rascal been up to, not upset you I hope? Let me know if you want me to come over and have a little word in his ear
I have a 15yo forest bred and run mare. She has a fantastic temperament which has passed onto all her foals.

Pickles (bay next to grey in the pictures) has been a little tricky so far to break. He is 4 and we have been long reining him around the school which has been going well despite him being a bit sharp! We hope to drive him, as at 13h hes a bit small for me to be honest! He has been opening his mouth loads resisting the bit so while I was having a mare scanned today who is in foal finally (yipee!)I asked vet to take a look inside his mouth, and voila, ended up removing 2 wolf teeth and giving the rest a good rasp.
Fingers crossed he will be a bit better behaved

I love your mare by the way Claire, she has such a kind 'mum' expression. I bet you have had some lovely foals out of her. Penny will be scanned next week, hopefully after her third time she will have taken!
I've got a picture of your two (the grey and the bay) as babies running with Ozzie and loads of others. Mrs Hankinson sent the print to me and said that you'd bought Ozzie, a black, and the two little ones and i recognised the grey straight away. My they have grown up.
I wonder if they'd recognise/remember Ozzie.

Oh really, I'd love to see that! Ollie was the black pony that I bought with Ozzie. A friend of mine had given me a list of ponies she liked on paper and when I told her I had bought Ollie she said he was the top of her list so he came in the yard that eve and left that eve too! Sadly he started showing signs of discomfort when they were breaking him and it transpired that his hock was fusing . So he is now a companion pony for her other horse.
I've taken a photo of the original photo Mrs Hankinson sent me so the quality isn't great. Mrs Hankinson's letter said it was taken in July 2005 so Ozzie will have been 2 and your little ones will have been yearlings.
Isn't it great to see so many NF babies running together.

Look at Ozzie's belly!! Ha ha... Brilliant picture, thanks! Even then Penny and Pickles stuck together. They were surprisingly good to seperate though when I wanted to split the mares and geldings this year.
Hey, Sarah, forgot to say that Bazil is looking fab!

Hi. Ive just been offered a mare by Billy Boy. She has the most fantastic temperament, unfortunately has mild navicular, so been offered her to run with my stallion-he has no mares yet this year so thought it may solve everyones problem. Still thinking if its wise but if they all have fab attitude then possibly worth 1 or 2 foals before she has to retire completely as she is only 14 now.

Well, I gotta keep the boy busy until he is man enough to break and I got enough cash to send him away to be broken properly by more experienced stallion person, then he should come back disciplined enough for me to show, ha ha
im looking forward to murphy!he is big and chunky!

What stallion do you have? I have just been told today that Penny is not in foal again - her third time with AI so w are going to roll her nomination to next year.

Hi I have Springmead Excalibur(aka Arthur), 4yo dark grey which I bred out of my mare by Vernons Vespers, his dad is Farriers Fair Chance, so he has very old bloodlines which I am looking to cross with some forest bred mares. I have a Brock mare which has produced a lovely grey colt by my stallion.
I also had a mare which took couple years to get in foal, she now has fantastic grey filly by Farriers Field of Dreams, so keep trying cos it really is worth the wait, good luck.

How big is he, and do you have any pics? Would you be interested in letting a nf cross mare come to him? Sorry for all the quick fire questions!

Hi, unfortunately Arthur had argument with a fence Weds night and has gashed his heel badly, resulting in couple weeks box rest. Not sure how long it will be til he can cover, possibly August. You can email me for a chat if you like. Unable to post pic as Im not very computer literate but can email it to you.

Ooh poor boy I hope feels better soon....
I have a free return for next year so if I persist in trying to put her in foal this year I will be reducing my time window for next year. All which I wasn't thinking about yesterday!
