Hello Ladies and gents
You have always help me out in the past so here is another question for you i have purchase what i thought was a 13hh hand gelding by Buckland dragon slayer lovely in every way just the pony for me, But i have just got it home and out of interest measure him only 12.2hh !!!!!. SOOO disapionted the lady is very good will have him back straight away but i would love to keep him the question is am i to big for him i am 5ft tall and 8 stone in weight he is a chunky lad and not quite four. will only be for gentle hacking. Thank you.
Thank you everybody for your advice, you have made my day, he is such a sweetie i have been looking for so long to find the right pony, are buckland dragon slayer offspring know for being layed back and good natured nothing seems to bother him even at age four.
You'll be fine on him - I sometimes ride a 12.2 forester and I'm 5ft 2" and weigh anywhere between 9st and 10st (the latter at the moment, need to start my diet again). His owner who rides him most of the time is 5ft 4" and 9st.
And yes, most Dragon Slayer stock that I know are very sensible...

I'm 5'7 and weigh 9 stone 7. My 3 year old NF is 13.2hh at the moment and I've never thought for a second that I would be too big for her. (Other liveries on the yard might though but they can just shut up and mind their own business ! ).
I used to ride a 12hh Exmoor who had no problem carrying me.
No , you are not too big
