Homey does not get to go to many shows as I do not have horse transport so have to either hack or hire a horsebox to take me.
So far he has done two outing this year and qualified for two championships - intro dressage and riding club pony.
Admittedly he did not have much competition but he did deserve to qualify as he is such a good boy.
As he qualified for the riding club pony championships he also went into the ridden pony champs at the show he qualified at. He did not come anywhere as it was quite difficult to get him going well on the go round as the show ponies go so slowly especially in canter and the ring was tiny. However the judge did say he was a cracking pony with the potential to be super star riding club pony and she could not tell who was enjoying jumping more him or me!
He also got mistaken for a section C in the huge mixed large breeds class but that is not uncommon despite me wearing my NF pony badge. Don't know why he gets mistaken for section C as he sure looks like a NF to me!
He is such a good boy so quiet waiting in line especially when the one next to him was rearing constantly. All this an he is only 6 years old and neither of us have had much chance to practice or go to shows.

Well done

Wow! Well done! Isn't it brilliant when the ponies are so fantastic we get so pround of them and have to tell the whole world! There is no other breed for me
Even when he does not win I still think of him as the best pony in the world so it does not matter if he comes first or last I still love him just as much.
He just has the most amazing temperment but I think that is one of the breed standards.
Well done you and Georgies Daddy! I cant wait to see your photos!
Georgie hasnt been out yet this year, but I am looking forward to showing her in-hand and she is almost 4 now. Unfortunately she is just not going to grow big enough for me to ride so I am going to look into finding a nice rider for her. But in the long tern I am going to get her broken to drive, which i'm sure she would thoroughly enjoy.

I hacked Homey to a local charity show and he went and won the mixed ridden M&M class - could not believe it as he was rather excited about cantering round a big grassy field with other ponies and did a spook or leap for joy or something like that!
He is on a bit of winning streak but it also means I wont be able to do the novice class with him at a bigger show that I wanted to do as he has now won a ridden class.

I think he is what they call an old fashioned forester as he is really chunky compared to some of the more modern sporty types and definately can cope with life out on the forest.
I don't see so many of his type around at the moment more the sporty competition type ones.

He is on a roll - took him to dressage again on Sunday - 50 minute hack over there and did intro and came 5th - despite me being on quite strong painkillers as I had been to the dentist on friday to have a tooth abssess treated.
What a little star he is - whilst lots of the big horses were messing about in the warm up area little Homey just relaxed and had a rest.
He was like a little native rose amongst all the big warmbloods!
