How can he make recommendations when he's never actually seen it done? I don't think it's sufficient to have watched a video - we all know that the camera can and does lie.
As an abstract concept, I used to think hot branding was cruel but having been to a couple of drifts and seen how professional the agisters and handlers are, and how quickly it's over, I don't think there's any cruelty at all.
Daisy certainly wasn't bothered about her brand when it was done, and she didn't mind it being touched right from when I got her (a week after branding).
