I missed the first two workers classes - got there just in time to see the results of the not exceeding 138cm class. There was only one forester that I could see - Suzanne Kempe with Rodlease Jubilation - and she was unplaced.

The exceeding 138cm class was a bit of a farce - the wind kept blowing the jumps down! There were masses of refusals, quite a few ponies didn't even get over the first fence sad.gif There were five foresters in the class and I think only one went clear (Rhi will correct me if I'm wrong) which was Sarah Lawrence's Bakeburn Romeo. Unfortunately he too was unplaced.

The only other forester I got a photo of was Elizabeth Carlyle's Sabinas Miss Moneypenny:

Forest ponies did a bit better in the Olympia qualifier, with two forest bred ponies heading the line happy.gif

Mrs Pound and Mrs Parker's Moorcorner Minstrel II won the class, with Jo Parker riding. Julia Kerslake's Wootton Monarch, ridden by Victoria Ayling, was second.

The other ribbons went to connemaras, the next highest forester being MJM Team's Applewitch Magister in eighth place.

The championship and Olympia ticket went to the section D gelding Kentchurch Galaxy, with the section C Waxwing Rheel in reserve.

Great pictures Judy and Rhi. There were only two clears in the middle section. To give the ponies their due I think a lot were caught out not only by the 'Windsor' atmosphere but also the contrast from working in on grass to jumping on a 'surface'. Mine certainly took a few fences to sort out her 'footwork' as she had never jumped on that type of surface before but apart from the first fence blip she did jump clear. Its her first season at that level and I've been really pleased with her attitude so far.
The stewards were also really rushing everybody and quite a few did'nt have much time to work in as they did'nt realise they jumped in catalogue order or that the class was starting half an hour earlier than in the original schedule.
Had they not waited 10 minutes for a pony to come from the lorries to the prizegiving we would have come home with a much coveted Windsor 6th rosette!!!

Lovely photos of windsor, i didnt take my camera!! Is there any chance you could email the photo of my boy in the ridden class to juliakerslake@googlemail.com. We were so pleased with him as it was his first show of the season. The pony is Wootton Monarch.
