last week was bad my mum past away..so this week back to the wild life..out there in the forest..me the camrea..and foals..first time i,ve been out this season taking foals..found the ones i think i will follow till they sold..

So sorry to read of your bereavement. The foals look gorgeous, following their progress is hopefully bringing you pleasure and taking your mind off things.

Sorry you are having a bad time,the Forest and the ponies will help you through. Your foals are lovely,who are they by?

they are not mine..each year i pick a few foals to take photos of..just for fun..as early in their lifes as poss,then follow them until they leave their mum at sale time..or if they stay on the forest into their nexts years..and so on..i like fillys as i hope they stay on the forest but the last few years they have not..this is last years one a cream

would love to no where she is now..as i have her first few mths of life in photos..think the mare has a D brand, we became great friends and she would alway come over..i never take photo near the road..so i walk quite a few miles over the mths..lol

Well done you for lovely photo`s. The fillies sometimes go back out in the spring. Which part of the forest do you normally take photo`s in?

the cream mare around latchmoor to settly pond area..the new ones are at meerit road brockenhurst, as i work there..so just walk across to them..

i just like following the story in photos..watching them grow..their funny ways..after a few visit they take no notice of me..the mares are great i gt some really funny shots funny pulling jumping..i forget the time some eveing lose in my own world..sad my other half never knows where i am..

this is the coloured mare shes not foaled yet..but has bagged up so maybe soon i,ve seem 2 foals by her..

Lovely pics. So sad to hear of your loss - but the Forest s a great soul-curer. The 'cream' foal in that pic will turn palomino, so won't look the same at an older age

just had a update on cream mare and foal.. now a yearling..both well at home with owner..may be back on forest later..mare due to foal soon..so glad she still around..hoping for another pally..
all so they send to some photos..which made my day..thank to them..

Beautiful photos.

When you are looking at ponies in the Brockenhurst area,please could you look out for a three year old filly,black,branded F over A. She is very pretty with no white except for a few white hairs under her forelock. Her mane and forelock is very thick.

So sorry to hear of your bereavement. I lost my Dad last year, so can relate to what you are going through. If you would like to talk to someone about it, my boyfriend is an anglican priest - he and I operate a (free) bereavement rescue service in the New Forest http://bereavementrescue.org.uk). It's not like conventional counselling - instead is based on the scientific evidence for life after death. We can even tell you much of it under a tree whilst watching ponies It makes a big difference once you know where your loved ones are and what it's all about (assuming you don't know already!).

I love your photos btw. It's so lovely to know that there are people out there enjoying the ponies in the way you do. Wasn't it lovely of those people to send you update photos of the palomino?!

Jenny I'm so sorry to read of your mum's passing. I am glad you are finding comfort in such a lovely way though, thank sfor sharing the pictures, they are beautiful!
I'll bet your album of the forest is amazing with photos like this each year. What a wonderful idea to follow the same foals through to sale too.
I'm sure your mum would be proud.

glad you like the photos. i find the forest a place to lose myself..its a bit busy at this time but last night did another short walk not many foals around latchmoor bridge area but a few mares.

Hi Jenny, glad you were able to find a quiet time for some space, even if the foals were in bed!
I love getting away 'from it all' - we have a huge country park here, and the beach is over 7 miles long. Thankfully most of the tourists stay by the lifeguarded area, so as a 'local' we know the areas we can go to have quiet time. Horses are amazing at helping to heal too - well lots of animals can do that I feel as they are so non-judgemental. In the past I could be solitary when troubled and I know it really helps ((hugs)).
