I have tonight been advised of the death of Jane Nicholson. She died this afternoon at the SGH after a short illness. Funeral arrangements will be posted as soon as they are made available. Jane and her husband Doaglas, who survives her, held the Fleetwater prefix. One most notable mare bred by them was Bluebird, who, without doubt, is one of the best mares to have ever run on the Forest.

Mike, Thanks for the further info- I had already heard from Norma. As you are well are I'm a great fan of Bluebird and have had dealings with many of her offspring- in fact taking Warrior for his first WHP tomorrow at Mopley.
I also had some fascinating chats with Jane about her own riding days- she loved endurance.
Bluebirds children ranged from 12.2hh right up to full 14 2hhs and have nearly all become brilliant competition poniies whether jumping,pony club or driving. Bluebird as you know still runs out age 23 (I think) and looks wonderful still and I have her last filly running at Bank
I will certainly be there on the 29th.

So good to see Warrior again,thankyou for bringing him over to see me Suzanne. I knew you were the right person to let him go to, Jane and Jean, who in fact named him,would be very pleased.
