Homey did his first novice whp class - he was a very good boy and loved jumping all the rustic jumps. It was combined horse and pony class for horse and ponies that have not won more than £10 in the whp classes. Unfortunately he had one stop it was a jump that had a suspended wooden water trough thing on it - perhaps he thought there was something to eat in there! so we did not come anywhere as there were lots of horses that jumped clear but only one pony.
nice pictures just a little bit of advice just in case you dont know when doing novice classes you are suppose to only be in a snaffle he looks like he's having fun though!
Lovely pictures you look great and your pony looks a good weight too.
My boy is only just 3 and not broken yet but he loves to jump alreay over 3ft fences from stand still!! so it seems iv got myself a born naturaltart jumper so it looks like im going to have to start jumping again but think im to old for that lol

It was unaffiliated so you could have whatever tack you liked - there is no way I would have got round in the snaffle he is a bit over enthusiastic.
I do ride him in his snaffle in his flat classes and for hacking out etc it is just jumping he likes to go as fast as possible.
He loves jumping so much that sometimes he will try to drag me over jumps that we are not meant to be jumping especially if they are big - what a show off pony!
i know it was un affilliated just thought as he is a nice pony you may of wanted to do affilliated and was just giving some advice just in case you didn't know

OMG did you steal my pony, my Basil looks so similar!!!
Thanks Sally Anne - do you think he would be nice enough for novice affiliated at some point? I jump in him in his snaffle at riding club rallies and hopefully we will improve enough to get him back into his snaffle over courses. Maybe when he gets more experienced he will find it less exciting. Sometimes when he sees jumps he paws the ground in the same way as he does when he has his bucket feed as he gets impatient to get going.
Maybe Basil and Homey are related?

Our little 12.3 loves to jump and is inclined to bolt through a course because he gets so excited. We have done him entirely in a snaffle but it can be a little wild. (Last years hunt practice went backwards for ten minutes or so.) Up to now Meta has done all the jumping on him, but I am biting the bullet at my vast age and having some jumping lessons on him (birthday pressy from M) so that when he tells me on the forest that a log is worth jumping I can actually let him do it! So if I can screw up the courage, any one can!!
