I started this thread in the Chat Forum but am copying it here at Steve's request, so that non-members can see the pics too
I thought it would be a good idea to post photos of the ponies that we've bought at Beaulieu Road, then and now.
I'll start - I bought my first Forester, 3yo Glenbeech Tibby, at the Youngstock Sale in May 2006. Louisa (foresters) and her mum were selling her. She was 2nd in the pre-sale show and made what was then a record price for a forest bred youngster Here's Tibs at the sales after I'd bought her:
And here she is at home a few days later (I didn't collect her till the weekend - Farriers Stud very kindly kept her for me for a few days):
This is her now, 3 years later as a 6yo I love her dearly and am so glad I went to the sales that day - which was thanks to Jan Hoadley of the NFPPG
Visa (Hartford Solero, bred by the OTC, but actually entered at the sale on their behalf, also by Elaine, Louisas mum ) - can't find any of when I bought her, but this is after 14 days, first day outside in the field, October 2006. Also in the pic is Gideon (Marchwood Perky II, bred by Jeff Kitcher) who I bought on the same day and sold to a friend, but sadly he got kicked by a shod horse in the field which shattered his shoulder and he had to be PTS:
As a yearling:
Last year as a (fat!!) 2yr old:
And as a 3yr old taken a few months ago (as you can tell from the muddy, hairy coat):
Rosey, the day I go her :
And on the forest, back in April (looking a bit thin, but the grass was just starting and she's picked up well now):

A massive thank you - I didn't buy Pragnells Thunderhead at the sales myself but from a farmer who had a small herd of foals from the sale in November 2006 I believe.
Thunder - 7th January 2007
Thunder - July 2009 - Aged 3

Brilliant photos everyone. It just goes to show what bl**dy good ponies go through the sales. All credit to the dedicated people who breed them.
My Ollie was sold there - I know someone who saw him go through - but sadly I have no photos of him as a youngster as he was 4 when I got him. I think he's beautiful now and so I feel sure he must have been a cute foal!
Yep we have bought and sold ponies for years through B road.
here are just a few we bought!
Wraggle taggle Gypsy bought as a 2yo filly.
Longslade Goldfinch aka Digger bought as a foal
Maggie May v bought as a barren mare and had a foal a week later!!!
Lucky lane redpoll my latest purchase!
Furzey lodge Fiona
This is Ruffles (Lyndale Jude) the week I got him from B-road (Oct 08)
& this is him at his first show a few weeks ago

Ok so both of mine came from BR unfortunately I don't have any photos of them on the computer as little ones but I do know who breed both of mine and whilst the lighter of the greys is only part Bred only due to the fact nobody registered her as a foal her mum was naughty and got out on the forest and never told anyone she had got caught by the stallion! They are both just wonderful and def a credit to both the different breeders and yes i would go back to either and buy another one and have looked into it for my Sister in law
What gorgeous Ponies Thanks for Sharing used to have a New Forest years ago that I bought off a Romany Gypsy who said he was a Circus Pony and if you shouted "Die"he would drop to the floor What a character he was He died age 28 years still miss him

My 4 yr old new forest came from BS in may 2008 he is Lucky Lane Paddy who was sold for a record price and he was best forest bred and came 3rd.
My 12 yr old daughter has started to show him this year and so far he has won 3 1st places 4 2nd places and 2 4th places he is fantastic and i am looking to buy another NF youngster but they are very hard to find here in Lancashire so it looks like i wil have look around the hampshire,so if anyone has a youngster for sale please let me know.
Please please please can I ask that if anyone has any photo's and success stories with forest bred ponies that they have purchased at beaulieu road that they forward them onto me.
I belong to the NFPPG (to those unfamiliar, that's the New Forest Pony Publicity Group) and we are always on the lookout for things like this to be displayed on the stand.
I also run the forest bred for sales list for the publicity group and you can find this on our pages.
