I took tally to stourhead today which is one of our local shows. we had a go at best turned out and came fith and then family pony and came second (second year running!!!)
here is a picture
our next show will be the breed show at the end of the month. am very excited, cant wait

ahhh. thanks guys well, measured at the point to point a couple of years ago with a stick he was 13.2hh but I measured him a few weeks ago to work out which novice ridden class to do at the breed show and he is now 13.3hh he is 7 years old so I recon that will be it now.

Im 5'8" I think this is a really nice photo. Hes got good big sholders which makes all the difference. I have some photos from other angles where I look like more of a giant on him!!!!

He does look lovely and moves well.It is good to see a New Forest pony being successful locally, particularly as there seem to be very few adults riding them around here.I have three New Forest ponies and live about five miles from Stourhead. Are you going to do any other local shows?

If I can beg a lift will take him to corsley show on aug 31st. We will also be doing the fun ride at downlands and the hunter trials at the saddle club in warminster in october

Anne,I have not seen the schedule for Corsley but we may go as it is a good show.It would be good to meet another New Forest enthusiast and could possibly give you a lift. The trouble is my four year old is not established in canter yet so not ready for ridden classes and I can't remember if there are any in hand classes. Is there a best turned out class? That might be possible, although we wouldn't be up to your standard.

ha ha ha, now you would not have said that if you had seen the totally rubbish plaits I do!!! no in hand classes. the shedule is online. I love corsley show. I jumped in the restricted open one year (in my youth) am going to do whp with tally this year. i think we have a lift but thank you for the offer I am also planning on entering the handy craft section and may make some jam the wurzles are playing on the sat night too.
