And this morning, 6 months later...



I am hoping that he will continue to grow in height over this winter as he's not 2 until May.

We think our non registerable boy is an Obershade pony. He has matured to 12'3. Old fashioned in build and as strong as an ox. Oh yes and very very fast when he wants to be!!

Thanks everyone! It has been really nice keeping a photo record of how much he is changing.

Today he was very brave and made friends with a dumper truck that had to go through the field! The driver very kindly turned it off and let him have a sniff...



And he liked it so much he even ran after it!

Just thought you'd like to know there is a huge thread on Obershade ponies on the tracing horses forum.

Hi Julia, Thanks for letting me know, I'd never been on that Forum before, but it was really interesting to read the thread, especially as Blaze's dam is Obershade Gypsy Girl (who I can't find much about) and hers and the pony in the threads dam is Obershade Gypsy Rose.
Myself and the OH are coming down to the New Forest on holiday in May next year and hope to stay near the area where Blaze was born - very excited!

He is a good lookin man, well done, you should be very proud of your self, he is a credit to you !!
