Fun Things to Do

DH got me thinking. Find fun things to do. I've heard this a lot throughout the years and every time I do, it stumps me.

I am happy but I need a life.

Thing is I don't even know how to go about it.

I've been so busy with the paper and trying to get my house back in order, I haven't thought about it much.

What does everyone else do for fun?

Fun things to do

Glad I can be a muse happy.gif Fun things to do:

*take a walk in your local park. it is probably great now that the weather is getting warmer.

*if you have friends, go out and spend time, not necessarily money. if they like to windowshop, it can be fun.

*meet up for lunch with friends, lunch is ALWAYS cheaper than dinner.

*go to a matinee movie (always cheaper)

*go out for ice cream (coldstone is great)

*go to a local festival (usually start coming around now that spring is here)

*if you live near a body of water, go feed the ducks/birds/or whatever water fowl you can find

*sit at a playground while your kids play

*take up a hobby (scrapbooking, crosstitching, knitting, etc.)

hope that these things help you. happy.gif

go bowling
attend a class or lecture
kickboxing or gym workouts
walking
cycling
fishing
camping
join a social group
volunteer
go on roadtrips
go on vacation

I pretty much do what everybody else that is still married does. I have no problem taking myself for dinner and eating alone in a restaurant, or going to see a movie by myself. It's quite enjoyable not to have to argue over which movie, or watch something i'd hate just to please another happy.gif

Awesome, thanks.

Kid you are so funny.

The weather was great until yesterday. But it will come back. I am lucky we have a greenbelt and a river and lots of parks here.

I'm not ready to venture out on my own quite yet. At least I have a 10 yr old and grandkids.

We went to the zoo last week. Hmmm. I've been wanting to go to the Botanical Gardens.

I'm going to visit my daughter in Washington on Wed, an hour from Canada Kid!

Thanks for getting my mind thinking you guys.

The one thing I have to admit that I really do enjoy about not being with someone, is that I am getting to do things that I have always wanted to do for me and for my kids and I dont have to "ask" anyone or get anyone's "approval". For so long I felt I could not go out and see or do what I've wanted to do. A good example is that "I" have always wanted to go on a cruise. Now I can! My WH hates boats and would never even consider going on one...it was always out of the question. My kids have also expressed a desire to go on a cruise. We are going to Calif, this summer and I had planned a mini-cruise for me and the kids but cancelled those plans after being advised not to go to Mexico (Swine flu). I still plan on taking a cruise (and going to Calif) but not sure where now.

I have always wanted to take fun classes, like painting, photography, and yoga, or kickboxing. Things that are fun to me and that I am interested in! I never had the time, and always felt guilty for having such desires. Now I have the time and no need to feel guilty happy.gif Currently I am taking kickboxing! And I love it!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It motivates me...it gets me out of the house...and has helped me to make more friends. It is all good happy.gif So I say take class in something that interests you...you may end up having the time of your life, especially if it is omething you enjoy or something that challenges you and helps you to grow.

The world is out there...what are you waiting for? Go get it! And have fun happy.gif

cruising

I'm not sure where you live but I saw a mention of taking a bus into NYC. If you are on the east coast there are week long cruises to Bermuda. They go from Charlotte, Baltimore,Philly, NY, and Boston. I did it a few years ago. It's very relaxing because you have three days in Bermuda and there is not a whole lot to do. You end up relaxing on a beach or the ship for a few hours each day. Some people like to be very busy on vacation so this is not for everyone.

I've been on a few cruises and of all the places I have been, St Thomas and St Maarten are by far the nicest. I liked Grand Caymans also. I have heard Bermuda is lovely also.

I'm glad you are making your way and doing way you will enjoy. Trust me when I say you can't go wrong with a cruise wink.gif I love them!!
