hello
i am new to this forum but i alredy own a few air pistols and tried pistol hunting befor but i dont think that my pistols are very efective for hunting. im thinking of getting a second hand 1377 and modding it and putting on a webley pistol scope i have lying around. i have herd that the 1377 is quite loud and i am wondering if i could fit an addapter to put a silencer on it so i can shoot without annoying the nabours when practicing. i am thinking of getting a manders silencer to put on it. has anybody used 1 of these befor? how efective would it be on a 1377? and would a silencer make the pistol too front heavy?

any other surgestions would be Appreciated
thanks

Pete

silencing the 1377

Howdy, I have a way you can silence it and get more accuracy too. I've had Skyler do the mods including a 20" barrel [which is why it is so quiet]. Plus I have the skeletonized riflr buttstock and also the pistol still minus the grip frame [on the other gun at the moment. Very accurate, just takes too long with pumping when critters are present, rather use my break barrel. Will sell both for $100 plus shipping.

thanks for the reply but i live in the UK so im limited to only 6 fpe which is a shame but we are allowed silencer also i would like to keep the 1377 as a pistol rather than a carbine so its more of a Challenge to hunt with.

Here's my 1377

I used a crosman steel breech to float the barrel and completely removed the foresight/barrelband. There is just enough room to fit a T.R.Robb 1/2" UNF silencer adapter on there. The result is a very quiet pistol indeed - the thwack of the pellet and the boing of the hammer are by far the loudest sounds when shooting.

Hope this helps

that looks verry cool with the silencer. what silencer do you use? and does it efect the balence or the pistol? i got a phase 1 1377 about a week ago and its great! but i have a problem with the valve and its leeking badly and its got worse and now it won't hold presure at all! i think iv figgered out the problem thow. i took it apart and the valve stem is knackered so i need 2 get a new 1. i cant wait until i get a new part and start some more modding but im a bit short of cash atm so it will be a while befor ill get a steel breech. also is it true that you have 2 glue the T.R.Robb addaptor on the barrle?

thanks peter

The silencer is a SAK rimfire/airgun silencer

It does change the balance of the pistol a fair bit but as I only really the gun rested (on a beanbag) it doesn't bother me. I use my 1377 as a silent back garden plinker which it's very well suited to - over 15 to 20 yards the groups are very, very tight. I'm not very accurate with it unsupported so I've never tried to shoot a live target....I use my shotgun for that!

You do have to use a bit of thread sealer to fit the adapter but it works very well...not sure how easy it would be to remove though.

IMO the key to getting accuracy with these guns is getting the trigger sorted – without that they’re…well….crap

thanks for the info

i think i will get a RWS manders silencer it only weighs 49.5g! so hopefully it wont efect the ballance too much. i dont reely like the idea of sticking an addapter to the barrle but i might be able to drill and tap a t.r.robb addapter for a grub screw.

June 25 2007, 2:27 AM

I have some questions for you.

Are the 1377's still available?

Do you accept paypal?

Does the $100.00 include shipping to 33612?

Thanks a bunch
