1) CAREFULLY READ FORUM POLICY BEFORE BEGINNING, and bring any questions, concerns or disagreements to administration.
2) follow the spirit of forum policies and will keep in mind their purpose.

4) make no changes to posts and threads without explanation
5) make no changes to a post or a thread unless those changes are necessary to further the goals of the forum
DESCRIPTION OF MODERATOR DUTIES
1) Moderators are a remedy of last resort. Members have the primary responsibility for developing the content of this site
2) Moderators are not responsible for being guardians of politeness or political correctness.
3) Moderators will occasionally remind members of our rules and suggestions for posting. Although this may be a bit embarrassing for a member, please do not take it personally. The goal of such reminders is to keep these forums as supportive, welcoming and non-judgmental as possible.
4) All content of this site belongs to all of its members. Therefore, moderators will not delete an entire thread, even at the request of the author of the original post.
5) Moderators will not respond to threats, such as a threat to no longer post on these boards.
6) Posts by formerly wayward spouses are infrequent and should be encouraged. Moderators will pay special attention to posts that might reasonably be expected to offend wayward spouses.
POTENTIAL MODERATOR ACTIONS
Here are some examples of the types of posts that would require a moderator to step in, and the potential action that would be taken. All actions taken by moderators will be explained by the moderator publicly in that thread, and all actions will be reviewed by the forum owner and other moderators.
REMINDERS: A reminder will be posted on a thread if forum policy has not been followed but, in the judgement of the moderator, the purpose of the site has not been compromised.
MOVED POSTS: When the subject of a post clearly falls outside the guidelines for a particular forum, then a moderator may move that post to an appropriate forum.
DELETIONS: Posts that contain a personal attack (sarcasm, name-calling, etc.) may be deleted at the discretion of the moderators. Example: “ is a lousy good for nothing jerk” will be deleted. Blanket statements about betrayed or betraying members may also be deleted at the discretion of the moderators. Example “Betrayed/Betraying spouses are all stupid idiots” will be deleted.
EDITS: If a member posts thoughts that overall have content that promotes our goals of healing, honesty and openness, but contain phrases that fall under the deletion category, the moderator may delete those phrases. If a member’s “colorful” language becomes too prevalent, that may also be edited out. In accordance with our policy on proselytizing, long quotations from religious texts, may be deleted, leaving the reference to such scripture (if it has been included by the member). Example: Saying, “Your situation reminds me of a quote from scripture. If you’re interested, read Ecclesiastes, chapter 3” is fine, but posting the entire text of that chapter is not acceptable, and will be edited.
LOCKS: A moderator may temporarily lock a thread if it is getting out of hand to allow a “cooling off” period. They may also temporarily lock a thread if the content is in a “gray area” not covered in these policies, to allow time (less than 24 hours) to consult with other moderators on what action should be taken. An explanation will be posted in the thread.
