In Sheep's Clothes

Hi -

What is this and where can I find it?

Also interested in having H read the online book that H2C referred to which helps them know what the BS needs.

H is just getting started this week in IC and outpatient treatment. He actually seems to be optimistic and even a little excited.

We've been taking walks together, a first. But he has so much trouble opening up. He is, as I've seen posted, a runner. I am hoping that through this whole treatment process he learns how to face life head on and deal with life's issues. He's always hidden behind his work...and alcohol.

I read the posts everyday and learn so much. Thank you to everyone.

Also, have been reading a book that has helped me immensely - probably not for everyone - called Every Heart Restored, by Fred and Brenda Stoeker. It's written for women how have been betrayed.

Take care everyone. You're all in my thoughts and prayers.

Lore

Lore, not sure where to get that book, but I just wanted to thank you for the update post.

What you wrote sounds "good" so far. Know that you and SRM, as well as everyone here, are in my thoughts.

Some things in life are problems. Most are inconveniences. Knowing the difference is wisdom.

In Sheep's Clothing: Understanding and Dealing With Manipulative People
by: George K. Simon
I actually just found one on the shelf at Barnes and Noble, but you can buy one on line at amazon.
not sure this book is for everyone because it deals more with manipulative people than with A. However it really helped me because I was being manipulated. One thing the book said is if someone has doen something bad to you and you wind up leaving the argument feeling like you have done something wrong then you have been manipulated. It shows you the tricks they use buy playing the victim while you are really the victim. Anyway like I said it helped me.

I loved this book. This site and this book are the two things that helped me the most. I read alot of the other books and they are mostly good to read but I always left thinking I wish my WS would read this so she could know what I am feeling. She hated reading those books and did very little reading. However I felt this book sort of leveled the playing field, I learnd stuff like if you have done nothing wrong and have had something terrible happen to you and you leave the argument feeling like you have done something wrong then you have been manipulated. It showed me what to look for when people are trying to control you. This book was the most important book I have ever read. Please don't someone say "you should read the Bible" I know that is the most important book.
