Crunch Time!

It is only two weeks until we leave for Italy and H is feeling the pressure big time!  He is freaking out that we are going to close the pizzeria for two weeks. He's been going off about how I did not take him into consideration about when we will be going.  He knew since last summer that we were going and refused to talk about it or commit to going until about a month ago.  And up until we had to pay the travel agent he could have changed the date but didnt.  So too bad I say!  He had plenty of opportunity to make changes but avoided it, so now it's too late and he has no one to blame but himself! But the good news is that I am doing ok...I am determined to have a great time no matter what he does. I am not going to take responsibility for his choices. But it is like I am going into uncharted territory here, and I am a bit nervous.  Plus, I am going to miss all of you while I am gone

Take care...Carol~

We will miss you too Carol, BUT we'll all be here when you get back! Just think of it as a big adventure!H will behave around the kids, won't he? Do you think your H might also be panicky because he will have to be a husband & father for a few weeks? He won't be able to hide at work! Also is he going to be smoking pot on the trip Or can he actually do without it for awhile? You just hang in there & have a great time! Will his mom put up with him acting like an ass or does he put on a good act for her? You are a strong woman Carol & your kids are lucky to have you for a role model! Take care!!!

Thanks for the kind words and wishes.  I think H is afraid to close the pizzeria.  Hopefully he gets over it and has a good time too. I know I will

Crunch Time!

I'm sure you're going to have a blast in Italy. I bet your H will loosen up once he gets there. It's Italy!!! It certainly sounds like you're in the right mind set. Have fun with or without him. I hope this turns out to be a great vacation. It sure sounds as if you & your H need this time together. You both have been working so hard that it doesn't seem like there has been much time for togetherness. Make this trip everything you want it to be. You deserve a great vacation

Thanks Sherrie.  We have only taken two vacations in the last 15 years, this will be our third.  I am very excited.  We definately need time alone and as a family.  hopefully this will help H reconnect with us on some level.  I am not counting on it so there is no way I will be disappointed.  But I do hope he loosens up too.

Take care...Carol~

Hi Carol...well you answered that question. I want to say that I would not be surprised if he doesn't go. Have you thought of that? My former H pulled one on us like that...we were going away for Christmas and the last minute, that very day, when the car was packed he announced that he wasn't going. Whew. What a blow. In any event, I hope that he does not pull that one and not go. I think your expecting "nothing" is a safeguard for you. I hope that he is able to connect and become more invested in you and your children. Have a safe, great trip. That is my fantasy, to do to Italy some day. Can't wait to hear about it upon your return.

Sage,

If he pulls a "fast one" on me and doesnt go, he better not be here when I get back

We are going to Rome, Venice, Milan, Naples and Zurich.  My H's family is from a small town near Naples on the other side of Mt. Vezuvius. We will be riding the euorails from city to city...one of the most beautiful (and cheapest) ways to see the country.  I am so excited.

Thanks everyone...Carol~
