Don't know what this ad was about, but I agree that physical abuse can be easier to forgive than betrayal - having experienced both. Although he only launched an attack 3 times toward the end. Then I moved out.

Betrayal can be so permanently emotionally disfiguring.

However, if the abuse was long-term or disfiguring maybe they would even out. I do not know.
