... that never happened!

I sent him a card today, on the front there is a lady singing, karaoke (sp!?) and saying, "Feeeeeelings...whooaaa-whooooaaa Feelings..." and on the inside, it says, "Friends don't let friends make asses of themselves in public. Ok, maybe once." I wrote a note in there that basically said I didn't want our meeting to be too weird and that I hoped we could be friends - and that if he wanted to call me sometime, we could talk without the Moms around.

Too much? I agonized over it all weekend and decided what the heck, send the card. It wasn't an engraved invitation to our wedding or anything...

Nope Monica, I think that was highly appropriate and leaves things open so that he doesn't feel pressured if he isn't ready for anything heavy now.

hey monica, i think that is a great idea, it lets you both off the hook a bit too, you dont have to worry about him thinking that you are a party to the mum's plotting haha and he gets to see that you are happy to have a new friend, if he would like one too.

here's hoping he is together enough (dare i say mature enough) to at least ring and say thanks for the card and gee that could have been really awkward

we have a saying down here which is "run it up the flag pole and see who waves"
which basically means, do something and see what happens, your card is a small flag, i hope he waves nicely
