Had a GREAT time

So, to continue a bit from my open post.... I did go on the date and I had a really good time.  I haven't had this much fun on a date since I was in college, about 20 years ago.

We had dinner with wine.  Then he suggested a brewing company/club that, fortunately for us, had an absolutely incredible band that night.  I love bands who have brass sections and good vocals, a la early seventies Chicago sound.  They had an incredible line-up of dance songs -- everything from big band and swing, blues, motown, classic rock, up to more recent stuff including U2.  It seemed just about everything they played was one of my favorites.  (Actually, I was captivated by the trombone player.  OMG.  wow.....)

I really enjoyed letting loose and having fun with a man, because I had really forgotten what that was like.  Whoo hoo!  Thing is, I think the fun had more to do with the band than the date, although he was nice enough.  We have different views on a lot of things, and he was a bit heavy-handed on his for a first date, but other than that, we had a laugh-out-loud good time.

He asked for a second date via email.  Have to think about it.  He might be good for a dancing partner here and there.

Jean

P.S.  This night out really came at a great time for me ... It's been so long, and the ex getting married, and all that.  I had fun with this man in a way I never had fun with my former husband.  Truly, made me feel 21 again.

nope

Actually, I haven't.  He mentioned an interest to do it again, and a while later I said that might be nice, but neither has made the move to ask.   But that's okay, as I've also just completed a course on website authoring, and am in love with my instructor...!  Ha ha!   Unfortunately, he didn't ask me out.  Maybe he just flirts with all the women.

But I've been so busy, I just run all day and then fall asleep when my head hits the pillow.  My mom had another heart attack (her fifth or sixth...?) a week ago.  She's 80 and will be transitioning to assisted living, but I just don't know when.  Could even be a year from now.

In other news, I've lost a little weight, but still have a way to go.  The ex, annoying as ever, and his wife bought a house this week.  Yes, I know that that's expensive, but his household income has about doubled now since their marriage and she has no dependents.  Marriage has not made him more agreeable so far.  The guy still finds reason to continually renege on school and band fees that he said he'd pay half of (yes I will...., no I won't...., okay, wait, I'll pay next week...., no I won't.....), and still says he's not paying his court-ordered amount for medical bills.    That means I have to find all my medical receipts, bank statements, etc. and write up what I've paid for, then contact the court.  Blah.  I really don't think he's gonna like what they tell him, and it's a shame I have to do that.  Not sure when I can do that, but I hope to notify the court by the end of summer.

Thanks for asking, Charlie.  How have you been?  Taking a break from classes?

Jean

Well, I sort of graduated but have one class left for 6 weeks in July and half of August, then that's it. I've also been working full-time but I don't think it will be permanent b/c I'm a contractor and I think they are going to transfer some civil service that are already permanent to this position so I'm still searching for permanent employment to make sure I'll have something. We'll see how that goes. I have been enjoying the small amount of time of only working. It is nice not having school always hanging over your head...

Other than that, everything is pretty much the same.

Glad you had a fun date Jean.

No time for a date.

I'm looking forward a non-school phase after this school phase Charlie.
Feels like this right now.

That looks like a tough row to hoe!  Can I jump into that picture and snip that string for you?

Okay, so, people.... we're going to go on a second date!  and we're going out dancing again.  I guess I've decided that he doesn't have to agree with me on everything -- we can still have fun together.  It's enough that we like to dance to all the same songs.
