| A few of us would like to suggest adding the Suicide hotline and a Suicide Prevention link(s) for whoever is in need of help.

Tex
Just wanted to let you (and everyone else) know that the administrators will be addressing this and considering the links that have been mentioned. A few of our administrators/moderators are out of pocket for a short while, so bear with us.

Would anyone like to volunteer to put together a list of sucide help links we could add to the site?

Or I guess, for anyone:
www.samaritans.org.uk
I have spoken to these people a few times, and they're very good and understanding. Only problem is, I really believe that if someone really wants to kill themselves, they won't ring someone who they know is going to try to dissuade them... I didn't ring them when I tried to kill myself, I rang them when I wanted to talk to someone in the middle of the night and I'd run out of friends... they were still good to me, though.

Thanks Sandy, we'll get these links added shortly.

BTW, I had an email from someone who said they'd never heard the expression "out of pocket" used in that way. Is that a term that is only used in the South?

GT,
I asked my H who was raised in Ohio and Michigan what "out of pocket" meant to him. His response was that it was expenses covered by an individual, not the company. But I knew what you meant because I'm from Louisiana, so maybe it is a Southern usage.
Hugs,

We'd say out of pocket over here. It would be in a situation where, say, you'd got someone to do you a favour (favor??!!) and you'd say 'I don't want you to be out of pocket' |

Hmmmm.....I guess I never realized it was that odd of an expression used in the context I used it. LOL
