Found this in my Grandmother' autograph book, dated July 1910:

Whatever you are, be that
Whatever you do, be true
Straightforwardly act
Be honest, in fact
Be nodody else but you

It reminds me a bit of the 'to thine own self be true' line.
I started this thread having read through Moe's 'Never' thread - this came to mind. I guess what I'm trying to say is, you can only have an affect on YOUR actions, not someone else's. So the above might be how you are, but it isn't necessarily how other people are...

Thanks, Sandy.

I do think I'm a good me and I do know that's all I can influence. And sometimes you forget who you are until you are forced to remember.

Things I have remembered about me and even learned about me are that most of what I am is love, compassion, forgiveness, and hope. I can't change that about me. I had forgotten those things somewhere along the way, but I remember now.
