Going back in time a bit

Quinn, or anyone else.... I just went over to HH to look at old posts, and have a couple of questions. First, when I was in Australia, I started posting on, think it was called 'Arrow through the heart' or something like that. I can't find my old posts, and can't remember my log in, but it was probably Freckles back then. It would have been around Jan - Mar 2002 that I posted on there.
Also, I recently asked if anyone knew what had happened to a man who used to post on here that I thought was in the navy... well, I found his old posts over on HH - he was called davesubbster. Anyone know what happened to him? Also, who was Errol?

Arrow and Further were shut down in late 2002 and all the posts were deleted.

In early 2003, the Healing Heart boards (Healing and Deeper Healing) started and joined with the "open" board that had previously coexisted with Arrow and Further.

These boards started at the end of last year.

Chris.

How's this for "just the facts" devoid of editorial comment?

I wanted the facts, so that's fine by me! Wish I could see what I wrote back then, though, but I guess it's all lost forever up there in puter heaven....

Someone else can probably give you a more definite timeline but this is what I remember. When I found the boards it was Arrow In The Heart and and run by RW/WR.  A few months after I showed up RW needed to give the boards up for personal reasons. So TomJ (he was a moderator at the time) took over ownership of the boards.  At that point the posts were erased and a new board started called "The Healing Heart."

So, you most likely couldn't find some of your old posts because they were erased when Arrow In The Heart was no more. But if you posted since it was Healing Heart you should be able to do a search under "Freckles" and find them.

Quinn started this site shortly after Tom banned (long story) him and RW from his site. Several of us moved over to here. And.....that brings us up to now.

Dave (Subbster) has been on this site a few times in chat. I talked with him not too long ago. I believe he also still posts on Healing Heart. I'm not sure about Errol. But you could also do a search for their names and see how recently they posted.

Does that help?

Chris....ROFL

Is this a first or what? You beat me to the punch because you wrote a short explanation while I was busy writing out a long detailed (wordy) account of the board history.

I never thought I'd see the day.

And how is davesubbster doing? Does he still go under that name? Maybe he'll show up one day....
I found my posts from healing heart, but it was the ones on Arrow I really wanted, cos that was when I was in Australia, and I probably wrote about how excited I was that husband had asked me to come home....
Maybe it's best I can't see them, hey? As I was being fooled still, at that time!!

Sandy

I only talked with Dave for a minute that night in chat, but he and his wife (Sunshine) were doing good. Dave showed up on the boards right after I did and we spent many hours in chat back then. He was very supportive of me during that time and I will always be grateful to him. Maybe if he lurks here he will pop in and say "hi."

I used to go back quite often and read some of those old threads. Some of them I look at and think.....boy I had my head up my butt.   LOL

What's also interesting (and he knows this) is back during those days Chris used to rub me the wrong way. Every time I read something he wrote I'd get peeved. But then about a year after I showed up I started listening to what he had to say. He's helped me and my husband more than he will ever know.

Also, I do remember you posting as Freckles, but I don't believe you ever posted on the OPEN board.

GT

Edited to add....yes he does still use Dave (subbster)

There are several of us who would have liked to see those old posts. I had just gotten on for a couple months on Arrow and that was at the beginning of my H's A. I like to go back to see how far I have come since then but just going back to HH shows enough progress :>)

My memory really sucks (can I say that?) these days.....so I apologize for asking this, but did you post as Charlie on Healing Heart? I remember you from there, just can't remember if you used that name or changed it when you started posting here.

1. LOL GT. Of course you can say that here. Who's gonna moderate the moderator? Do we have a policy on that? (Watch out for that owner guy.)

2. Charlie used some version of "hurt". I remember fussing with her once in chat to pick a "real" name since more than one person was using a variation of "hurt". (I think I said "we ALL hurt around here...".)

3. This sentence is included for no good reason. And because I haven't said enough stupid stuff yet.

4. I had to do one overly wordy post tonight just to keep you happy.

June 8 2005, 8:10 AM

Speaking of chat last night I wanted to apologize if I seemed scattered and didn't participate much. But it's because I was (am?) scattered.  With that many people in there it's difficult for me to keep up with all the conversations going. Plus, when there are so many there I'm bad about going off to do other things and then forgetting I am in chat. Bless my heart.

Charlie

Now I remember the hurt288 ID. I believe you changed it when you got to this site to something more positive? I also remember several people using "hurt"in their ID's on HH. And I also have no problem believing that Chris asked you to change it.  LOL

Sandy, it was good to meet up with you in chat last night. I'm not there much these days. I'm "chat challenged." LOL    I hope you got some sleep.

"With that many people in there it's difficult for me to keep up with all the conversations going."

Yep, Bless my heart too :>)

Sandy

I also had a very difficult time keeping up with all of those and wanted to respond to a few of your questions. I know we say things in the states that may not make sense to people in England but I had a hard time understanding what you were asking b/c there were too many messages in between the message in question and your question about it. Hmmm, did that make any sense? When chat is that busy I think it is difficult to answer questions although I tried sometimes.

Smiles!

You think you have problems!!

June 8 2005, 1:47 PM

I, too, am severely chat challenged, and add to that the time it takes for my messages to get to you guys!!
I can't even remember what questions I asked!! I just thought you were all talking in code most of the time!! I understood when Quinn said about going to the Canary Islands though!! I think I need a list of what all those initials stand for, I expect they're states, but not sure, and I don't know where they are anyway!! I could go and get an atlas, but you'd be onto the next subject by the time I did that! Thankyou all for making me welcome anyhow, and yes, I did get some sleep - I'm on nights for the next few days, so was staying awake as long as I could to get tired (note: tired = sleepy / tyres = things on a car. At least I can remember that much! So, you have CA I think, California? I know NY. That's about it!!! If you tell me any more, can you please say where it is, like top right (Boston?? Is that in MA?) and Florida, oh think that's FLA ?? Is bottom right, get the idea?

At the top right, there's Cory. At the top left, there's MM and Anthony. Jack is at the bottom of the middle and RW is at the top of the middle. You'll find Charlie at the far right, half way between the top and bottom.

Sandy, the two-letter abbreviations are the US Postal Service and Post Canada designations for the US states and Canadian provinces and territories. Altogether there are close to 70 two-letter abbreviations that most North Americans understand as meaning a state, province, or territory of the US or Canada.

Gee thanks everyone, that makes it a whole lot clearer!! Doesn't anyone live bottom left? That would be kind of south California, right? That's where I'd like to visit cos I'm a beachy person and I've heard they have great beaches there. Also Clearwater - always wanted to go there. Is it as nice as my images reckon it is?

Right. We used to have a coupla reglars (Dbrons and his W) who posted from the San Diego area but I can't think of anyone else off hand. We should recruit some southern Californians so that we can visit them (but don't tell them that to start with - it might scare'm off).

I used to live in Southern California, so that sort of counts.

The West Coast of Florida is beautiful, Sandy. St. Petersburg Beach is my favorite. Come to think of it, it's beautifully sandy...LOL.

Gee Chris - I've never heard that one before.....!!!!
Do you think all this means there's a geographical connection to betraying? Like that maybe Californians are more faithful to their spouses than ummm, say, Floridarians?? Don't suppose you call them that, but I'm sure you know what I mean! Just a thought. If so, think I'll go and live in California....

Sandy (Freckles),

I still read on both boards, and as time allows occasionally drop into chat on either board.

Things are good, not great, but good....

Others have told me that year three is when the relationship healing can trully begin and I am ready. I love my wife, but the passion I used to feel is like comparing a glowing ember in a campfire to a raging volcano. Its there, but only flares up now and then when it used to be there all the time.

I am in Gulfport MS this week for training and won't return home till Saturday night, maybe I can update you more then.

Take care,

Dave

How about central California? I'm in the Bay Area as is Ken - LittleBear. I live one block from the beach - but don't think Beach Boys and bikinis - our summer temperature is about 70 - 75 f. (21-23 c.). We're more into windsurfing, parasailing and kayaking. However, the views are beautiful and I have to credit the deep thinking during walks on the beach as one of the things that kept me sane during the affair madness.

Sandy, you wanna visit, you just let me know.

Hi Dave, Good to hear from you. Glad you are doing ok ish. I understand about the passion thing, only too well. For me, its completely gone... I think this is something that has to come from both partners. ie. for me, I need to feel that my H feels passion for me, and I don't, so aint ever likely to feel like giving him any. Know what I mean?
Hi Misha. That was really sweet of you! Not sure where you are exactly, what is The Bay area? Do you mean San Francisco? Don't laugh, I'm just a bit dumb on US geography!! Your beach sounds good to me, just might take you up on your offer one of these fine days...

Sandy wrote >>Do you mean San Francisco?<<

If it's pronounced "buh-YEAH-reeya" (rhymes with Galleria), then yes, I bet she means S.F. There's a very pretty spot just north of the buh-YEAH-reeya called Inverness, which sits at the end of a firth/fiord kinda thingy. If you like Scotland, you'd feel right at home around Inverness, CA.

Misha - is anyone invited to the buh-YEAH-reeya? Or just Sandy?
