Ok, that looks like 20. You realize that for every question that we ask of her, she gets to ask us a similar question. That's why I kept mine non-personal and of the matter of fact type.
""""MIne's eating watermelon.""""
Several of us can vouch for that. Inhaling watermelon while wearing a pink cowboy hat better describes it. Oh, now I get it. That's how the hat got pink. It must have been white before. LOL

Ah senora Spirit, a person after my own heart. You get Corona in Aussieland? How much you pay, senora? It's rather expensive here but you can get it in Mexico cheap cheap. I like Corona with a slice of lime in the neck of a long neck bottle.
GT, my guess is that she is probably gonna hammer you with some very pointed questions.
I asked that question because I was at a conference recently where the keynote speaker asked that very same question... It IS a tough question to answer, and personally, I couldn't get it down to one person. The closest I could narrow it down to was 3:
Bruce Lee
Albert Einstein
Benjamin Franklin
They say that who you come up with says something about yourself... Wonder what my list says about me?
Cory
You are not a human being having a spiritual experience, but a spiritual being having a human experience.
I have 2. One UNKNOWN to most of you - but not to Cory... lol
A former BAN member we nicknamed "Roo" - a wonderful young FWS who works and lives in your very neck of the woods, Kath lol. We spent days in chat... and after so many years we are still in touch...
The other.... the other is YOU, dear....and you know why, Kath... my work sister ... keep up the good work, girl...
Matter of fact, the first time I saw them live still ranks as one of the best double bill concerts ever.
AC/DC, with Yngwie Malsteen opening.
I think the only one that was better was Metallica opening for Ozzy.
Also up on the list was Billy Squier opening for Pat Benatar, Cheap Trick opening for REO Speedwagon, Blue Oyster Cult opening for Black Sabbath (Black & Blue Tour), and Poison opening for Ratt (Ratt Poison Tour).
Also once went to a triple bill show: Jonathon Edwards opening for the Outlaws opening for Charlie Daniels.
Cory
You are not a human being having a spiritual experience, but a spiritual being having a human experience.
We seem to have similar tastes in music Cory, though I listen to many others, as well.
"Metallica opening for Ozzy." Oz Fest? Ex took my daughter to one in St Louis along with my brother and his daughter...they had a ball. Metallica opened for Oz during that one...several years ago. I've seen Metallica...hmmm...only time, which was about 12 years ago.
"Billy Squier opening for Pat Benatar" Never saw Benatar, though I love her music...even the new bluesy stuff she's doing now. Billy Squier...Oh man...he is so great; again, even the bluesy stuff he does...very different. Saw him the first time with Def Lepard opening for him, and again a couple years ago with Journey, Styx, and Bad Company. Great concert.
"Cheap Trick opening for REO Speedwagon" Have seen both of them several times...once with Cheap Trick opening for REO.
Saw Charlie Daniels many years ago...during my biker days. He put on a great show.
Friend and I saw Van Halen last November...superb. Eddie Van Halen is one of the guitar greats...IMHO.
I want my kids to play Highway to Hell when I die. They think I'm nuts. I don't care if I'm 90 years old. Still want it done! I know...sick woman. lol
kat - you must tell you about me and maybe i can hook up with her! how cool would that be! ah work buddy, i am doing the manager thing again, dead easy, make them think they are working hard and then let them go home early (after they have fought over who gets to make my afternoon coffee). they love me haha
cory-ac/dc, we call them acker dacker, i think i might have told you that before and that the original lead singer bon scott is buried just up the road from where i live (in the local cemetry of course haha), maybe i should pop in and say hi for you and all !
i would love to meet you, thanks for the compliment, mike hutchins - an interesting dude, great music, strange way to die, but you get that sort of thing occassionally!, what is CHM - my brain is not working. the thorpedo is pretty amazing - such huge feet - mm i wonder...,haha mel gibson like russell crowe are aussies if we like what they are doing haha
oh and what is a Yngwie Malsteen????
cindy - guess what i have never seen acker/dacker, i am too young haha, but i do know a couple of guys who were extras in the movie they made about them. you and cory have interesting music taste! hey better than have highway to hell played at your funeral, get a tat on your butt with that on, so you can give people a laugh in the old folks home, when you get to that time in your life hahah
Cindy, when I saw Metallica and Ozzy, it was before Metallica was known to the mainstream audience, before Cliff Burton died, before the black album. They were on the Master Of Puppets tour, and Ozzy was on his Ultimate Sin.
Had backstage passes for that show, and I still consider that evening one of the high points of my life. One my daughters is a huge Metallica fan, and she almost dumped a load in her pants when I told her that I had met them a couple months before their original bassist, Cliff Burton, was killed. When you watch them, you can tell that James Hetfield is big, but meeting him in person... When I shook his hand, my hand disappeared inside his.
Meeting Ozzy was absolutely amazing. The man has lived and been a part of the hard rock scene almost as long as I've been alive. A lot of people joke about his mannerisms, etc., but let me tell you, he is one VERY smart individual. He can tell you some "road stories"..
Before he started Ozzfest, Ozzy was already known as the guy you want to tour with if you want to have a big career in metal. Here's a short list of bands that opened for him on their first big tour:
Metallica
Iron Maiden
Poison
Motley Crue
There's more, but it shows you his (and Sharon's) knack for finding some pretty good bands.
Getting back to Metallica, here's your trivia for today: What famous guitar player taught Kirk Hemmett (Metallica lead guitarist) to play the guitar?
My entire funeral will be music. I have a tape (that I should now put on CD) of songs that have meant something special to me through the years, from Elton John's "Funeral For A Friend" to "The Living Years" by Mike and the Mechanics. The only spoken words at the funeral will be someone saying, "Cory requested that there be no spoken words today".
"The Living Years" is VERY special/freaky to me. LOOONG story about that, maybe I'll share it sometime...
Edited to add: Kath, you asked, "oh and what is a Yngwie Malsteen????"
It's not a "what", it's a "who". Think kick arse rock guitar combined with classical music. Think Beethoven, Bach, Chopin, Vivaldi and Paganinni pieces being played on electric at 4 times the speed normally played. That's Yngwie (ING-vay). Pick up "Live In Leningrad" if you want a really good example of what he can do.

"The Living Years" by Mike and the Mechanics." isnt that a most amazing song!
re your funeral, "The only spoken words at the funeral will be someone saying, "Cory requested that there be no spoken words today". why am i not surprised haha, oh and i am begining to think you have some control issues hahaha joking hon!
you met ozzy, wow, he really is pretty cool and i even like sharon, i think she is very beautiful, we get her show here, she is such a fruitcake (aussie term of affection) but i think she is very very smart too.
now you may be surprisd but i do have an old black sabbath album lurking in my upboards haha, the old stuff is good
My husband has a story about the song "The Living Years" as well. An event happened in his life that was tied to that song, and he says it was a turning point in his recovery from my affair. Great song.
You have two Aussies here, me and Kath/Spirit AND YOU ALL FORGOT ME in your 'favourite Aussie' bit. But I won't sulk (ever again) I'll forgive you all cos I'm an Aussie/Pommie.
Kath, correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't Fosters an export? ie. Aussies don't drink the stuff? Maybe it's a NSW thing, but my mates (the ones I grew up with) all drink either 'new' or 'old'. As I'm a wine drinker (whiner?) I never really understood it, but I know I had to ask for a schooner of new! Maybe it was knew? Maybe it was Auld?
Wish I'd been here for the 20 questions.......... I'd have thought of 20 questions for you all by myself. Which brings me to another idea........ go to next thread. Brush with fame, I think I'll call it.....

I don't think you'll find my Dad on the net! The other guy you were talking about built a station near Lapstone but it was part of the old zig zag railway, I think. I went to the station on last visit to Oz and there's no mention of my Dad. I enjoy talking the Oz stuff to you too!! It was hard work, though, thinking of 20 questions for you - had to remember being back at school, and that was a llllllllloooooooooooonnnnnnnnnnnnnnggggggggg time ago!!
What's Sydney Morning Herald Editions Only and acronym for? We learnt that one at school and I still remember it, and some of these US of A people might know the answer to it if they think hard!!
Yes, my Dad died in 1994. No brother called Rod, but I do have a brother called Roger (close) and Colin, and my sister who used to be on TV in Canberra was called Anne Davis at the time, but I've looked and can't find anything, it was back in about 1963 to 1968, she was on Channel 7 Canberra, and their studio was on Black Mountain then, don't think it is now xxx
Come on!! Especially all the USians (that's Sandyish for Americans) - get your thinking caps on!!
Why would my school have taught us Sydney Morning Herald Editions Only to remind us of something????????
Get your thinking caps on!!
It's a bit like
Never Eat Shredded Wheat

Just wanted to remind you this w/e is a special w/e for the USians....all over the world, and some of us, myself included have hung 'the thinking cap' for a while
Well, either you're bluffing for time cos you don't know the answer, or you'll be back with the correct answer soon. Of course, if you knew the answer, it would have only taken the same amount of time to type it as it did to type what you typed....
