I just booked a ticket to Isla de Margarita for Nov. 9th. I fly to Caracas Venezuela than to Margarita.
If you're curious about it look it up on the net- www.islamargarita.com
My birthday in Nov. so this is is my present to me. Maybe it will help heal my heart that is still so sad and lonely.
Maybe I'll meet someone who is kind, honest and that I find attractive.
Somedays I'm not sure what I'm doing or where I'm going, (except in Nov. I know where I'm going).
I have moments where I know I'll be OK. and I do well on my own. And then there are those moments where pain grips my heart and I am in tears over the loss of my lousy marriage.
My husband was here at my house today replacing a piece of wood on the deck. He bought me a bunch of tools so I don't have to keep borrowing his- another indication that we aren't reconciling.
I wish that we could have developed a healthy marriage, but I know it wasn't. I'm just such an idealist who believes that with enough love we could have fixed the marriage. I will be more of a realist in the future.
I hope I meet a man who has many of the qualities of the men who post on this board.
Well, I looked up the site - and you're going to have a fantastic time!! It looks so good! I also found another site with some good pics: www.margaritasun.com
Do you know which resort you'll be going to?
Love Sandy xxx

MARGARITA ISLAND. La Isla Margarita, known as the "Pearl of the Caribbean", is situated 38 km north east of the mainland of Venezuela and far from the track of Atlantic tropical storms. Its location as an island in the Caribbean sea offers lots of beaches to explore, most of them virgin. Margarita Island is divided into two sections tenuously linked by a 24 km. sand spit which separates the sea from the fascinating Restinga Lagoon National Park. At its largest, Margarita Island measures 67 km from east to west ( Punta Ballena to Punta Arenas) and 32.4 kms. from north to south - 167 km. of shoreline liberally endowed with inviting beaches. The average temperature is 27 degrees Celsius and the annual rainfall averages 27 inches resulting in mostly arid landscapes with some wooded areas and fertile valleys. Over 300,000 people live on Margarita Island most of whom live in the eastern part where the capital of Asuncion and the shoppers paradise of Porlamar are located. The western part of Margarita island is called the Macanao Peninsula. It is sparsely populated and has seen little tourist development due to the limited availability of water. Wild deer, goats and hares roam the mountainous interior and the sandy beaches are only visited by the local fishermen.
I might not come home.

You have a great shoulder to lean on.........
H2C- Oh God what if they don't have waddermelons!!! If not, you and NM can bring me some.
Come on, you'll need a vacation in Nov. from the cold and wet.
Seriously though, these lousy waddrmelons around here are enough to piss me off. I've bought four mealy, pithy, unsweet ones so far. From now on they're gonna have to cut one up and let me try it first before I shell out the fortune the damn things cost!
You don't happen to know any waddermelon barons do you?
I like watermelons, especially Barcadi Breezer watermelon flavour. But when eating actual watermelons, what do you do about the pips? Just eat em? I spend forever trying to dig em outxxx
Sandy asked<<>>But when eating actual watermelons, what do you do about the pips? Just eat em? I spend forever trying to dig em out>>
When I was a kid we'd spit them (the seeds) at the person sitting the closest to us, usually a sibling or a neighbor kid. LOL Some of my fondest childhood memories include eating cold watermelon outside on a hot summer day, then running through the sprinklers to wash it off. It was also great fun to have seed spitting contests. I've handed down that tradition to my kids.
MM, I live in watermelon country. Come see me. I'll set you up with the biggest sweetest tasting watermelons you've ever had.
H2C
Watermelons would be no fun at all without seeds.

That's all well and good when you're a kid, but now I have bridges and crowns to worry about!! Anyway, how do you grow them with no seed to cultivate them?

OMG! You are so lucky! Will you find me a house too? It might sound like I'm over the top about waddermelons, but I think a sweet crunchy waddermelon, is just about the most divine thing one can eat.
Any waddermelon barons in your neck of the woods? LOL
