What do you call the male version of a W**** ?

Anyone know what you call a male version of a whore? Since that is what I refer to HER as, my H wants to know what that makes him! Thought I'd oblige him and tell him but I couldn't come up with a synonym that quite expresses the same idea that whore does for a woman.

I know it sounds like we're going down a dangerous road here but he steered the car, I'm the passenger here.

Not that I suggest calling your H this, but the first thing that came to my mind was "a sleaze".

Recently I read in a book that a Native American tribe called such a man something along the lines of 'Squawman'.

A Friendly Reminder

July 13 2005, 9:21 PM

Namecalling is against the rules of ADR.

A lot of leeway is allowed on the Discovery and Further boards because those are supposed to be safe places for betrayed partners to vent.

However, this was posted on the OPEN board, on which both betrayed and betrayers post. There is a little more restraint called for on the OPEN board for that reason.

This post didn't call anyone names, but it's about namecalling and that makes it kind of tricky to "moderate".

Chris.

but I had to look it up, sure enough thats where I heard it:

"Elaine, he's a male bimbo. He's a mimbo!"
- Jerry, on Tony, in "The Stall"

Another Name

Angela:

I shared your dilemma when describing my sleazeball ex. I mean, sleazeball just doesn't have the same fury and damnation as WHORE. I also found it interesting that common English usage does not have a word for a male of loose morals that condemns his behavior. Can we say double standard, kids? Nevertheless, I came up with one I like quite well and was a fitting description of him and his moral outlook: Slut with a penis or SWAP. I still get smirking satisfaction from just typing it. Heck, even my devout Christian, straight arrow Mom cracks up when I refer to him as such. That makes it ENTIRELY worth it right there....

Well

July 16 2005, 7:18 PM

I sort of like asshole myself...

But that's not really the equivalent of whore now is it?

They had better words for this stuff in old English literature (a sort of past-time of mine). How about these?

scoundrel
rogue
blackguard
cad
lowlife

...and I could go on.

That Chris'll moderate you!! Just put asterisks in places where we all know what you mean. Like: men wh*res are **ckers

Those are all wonderful words.

"Cad" (before "computer aided design" started) was a terribly insulting term, and did mean "cheater", as did "scoundrel".

"Rogue" was a more polite term; today it means "runaway" or "out-of-control" in common usage.

"Blackguard" was more of a general term referring to a hellraiser or carouser, the opposite of a gentleman in many ways.

Chris...always a word person.

CHRIS--sorry I started this thread in the wrong place, HOWEVER, it did generate some good ideas. I particularly liked SWAP.

SAMDY--Haven't been working on the smilies because I've been preoccupied and not in much of a smiley kind of mood I guess. I will get there though and try to make you proud!
