Happy Belated Birthday Chris

Ya know,  I think I did the same thing last year. I remembered a few days before your birthday that it was coming up, but then let it slip past me. Which is really inexcusable considering it's right there on your login id.

Happy Belated Birthday Chris. Sounds like you and your son celebrated it in the right way.

Let's see, is this number 44 or 45 for you?

Saturday, and 46. (The second half of my life; people live a long time in my family.)

Well, happy 46th, Chris!

I'll be 40 in November and thinking about this next half of my life (if all goes well....).

I feel like I've got to "hurry up and do something" with my life.....  Anyone else get like that?  Part of it is because I'm single.  Part of it is that I'm trying to balance being a good mother who actually gives some quantity as well as quality time....and trying (and often failing) to make a dent career-wise.

I'm stuck in the mundane.

Happy Birthday Chris!!

I've got number 42 coming up in December, more than 2/3 into my life if you look at my family history...

It was funny. Last year, the song, "Man In The Wilderness" by Styx kept running through my head on my birthday...

Another year has passed me by
Still I look at myself and cry
What kind of man have I become?
All of the years I spent in search of myself
And I'm still in the dark
'Cause I can't seem to find the light alone

Chris, it's obvious to many old timers here that you HAVE found yourself. Good on ya, buddy!

Cory

You are not a human being having a spiritual experience, but a spiritual being having a human experience.

Thanks, everyone.

Jean, I'm stuck in the mundane, too...but only if I look at it that way.

I am in the early stages of forming a new life plan. Since I'm starting from zero, the first aspect of that plan is that I know I will work until I'm at least 72...more than 25 years from now. I also know that I don't want to do what I'm doing forever, but my degree and experience are so far out of date that I will have to go back to school and get "re-credentialed" to do anything that I'm interested in now.

And, of course, there's the kiddo. My #1 priority is getting him into college in three years...THEN I can focus more completely on a new life. Maybe I'll go off to school at the same time. Until then, I do have to live the mundane.

After that, though...watch out.

Chris.
