Hey I'm going to my 20 year reunion this weekend and am looking for a sexy dress.

Should I wear this one?

I'm having a really hard time finding one. Ughh.

Do I wear the little black dress? I went to a wedding with BF a few months back and everyone (literally) had a little black dress on. I was in orange. LOL

charlie

what to wear?

Ya'll know I'm jokin, but seriously where the heck can I find one? I'm tired of being the most conservative one there. LOL

Charlie, I'm NOT the person to ask about fashion. I'm a jeans and T-Shirt kind of guy...

However, every nice dress or dressy outfit that my W owns has been found at Filene's. The stuff she's found at other stores just wasn't that great, IMO.

For the record, I liked all the dresses you posted..

I guess that just depends on what image your trying to promote Charlie

I wouldn't say orange to a wedding is conservative LMAO! Now the little black dresses, they are conservative, usually!

I have more clothes than most people could probably ever imagine (to match the 250 shoes ) and I can never find a single thing to wear even though I liked it the day before hahaha

If you could show up in anything above, who the hell cares what ya wear you will look good anyway

Seriously though...........find a black dress and find some way to make it different.......a silver shawl or whatever.

I'd say go with a sleeveless little black dress. You usually can't go wrong with  a simple black dress. Kid had a good idea with the shawl.....those are in style now. And there are some that have a see through affect that are sexy. Add a little bit of jewelry and IMO you have a very classy look.

I bought a sleeveless black dress several years back to wear to our 20 year reunion and have worn it to several functions since then. It is mid length. Not too short.......but not too long. It's still sexy but not as showy as the dresses you posted above. If you want an even sexier look wear higher heels. (Speaking of that, what is it with men and high heels anyway? My husband loves for me to wear them)

GT

Edited to add.......our mall has a Victoria's Secrets that carries some sexy little dresses. Also, if you have any local lingerie shops sometimes they carry a few evening dresses.

Sheesh...how many times can I edit one post?

That's a dress? It looks more like a hanky.

(Not that there's anything wrong with hankies.)

Thanks GT

I actually found one that is cute. I wasn't sure about it at first but I like it. I'm not sure what this color is called though. LOL Sort of Maroon but almost pinkish, has straps, is maybe 3/4 length and shorter in some places of them hem. Cute I think.

I think it is a bathing suit

Charlie,

I'm with Cory, I'm more a jeans and T-shirt kind of guy. My wife has to wear dressy clothes every day for work, so I greatly prefer to see her in jeans or casual clothes. Fancy dresses don't do much for me...

See www.uglydress.com

When I go to a wedding or some other event and see a gal all decked out in some fancy outfit, the first thing that pops into my mind is "Snob". But a gal wearing a simple dress (not "old lady", not too "sexy", just comfortable) or jeans and a nice top turns my head every time. I figure, here's a gal who isn't trying to prove herself to anyone. She's REAL. That's the kind of gal I find attractive.

Of course, if I pick out something for my wife, she usually says one of two things... 1. "I can't wear that to work. It's too casual". 2. "I can't wear that. It's too revealing".

Don't get me wrong, I really enjoyed the dresses you showed but I have no clue where you'd wear something like that. My wife has a few items like that, but she keeps them just for recreational purposes here at home.

I like the first dress RW posted. It looks like something I'd realistically want my wife to wear outside the house.

Just for the heck of it, I did a quick search to see what kind of dresses I found attractive. Here's a few I saw on Amazon.com:

I like the flower one best, but that's me. I'm a guy. Probably boring when it comes to popular styles?

GT,

> very classy look.

I guess it's my situation. My wife works with lawyers and "fancy-pants" people all day long. I've encountered more "class" than I ever care to. I'd much rather hang out with normal, down to earth people.

> what is it with men and high heels anyway?

Again, I'm weird... I don't particularly care for high heels. Does nothing for me. Always reminds me of a porn film where they're completely naked on a bed or on the beach, but they have their high heels on?

Sure, some heels are attractive, and they do make your legs look longer. But who came up with the idea that walking around on your tippie-toes was attractive?

I don't want my wimminz in the kitchen or pregnant, but I sure likes'em when they're barefoot!

Anthony

P.S. "Anthonys Scale of Dress Lengths"

1. Touching the Floor - Grandma...
2. Below the knees - Funeral...
3. Knee Length - Work Wear...
4. Above the knee - Date Night...
5. Hip Length - Slut...

The dresses I did up above were just a joke. I was just getting frustrated because I couldn't find one I liked or a local store for ones I did like

The dress I got was a little like the middle one in your pics except give it spaghetti straps and no shoulder coverage and make it a dark pinkish color almost maroon. The hem is fairly similar. The shoes are similar to the ones in the picture but have another small strap around the ankle.

GT That dress place you mentioned is only in the North East. Thanks anyway.

Holy moly, they actually have a pic. Here it is

It has some tiny sparkles too but its hard to see. I had some reservations about the bottom of it but many saleswomen assured me it is fairly common now?????????????????????????????

When I say classy, I don't mean uppity. I mean a look that goes for style as opposed to showy. I've never been one that goes for clothes that scream......look at me. If I like it or my husband likes it I wear it. It doesn't matter much to me what other folks think.

Charlie

That's a very nice dress. I'm sure you wear it well. Have a good time at the reunion.

I like it!

Sexy without being slutty. Classy without being snobbish.

I love dresses that have the angled bottoms like that.

Where'd you say you got that? My wife might need a present...

Re: 20 year reunion

October 17 2005, 4:10 PM

Hey everyone

The reunion was an incredibly great time. I'm glad I went. It was an all weekend event and wonderful. I even made some far better friends that night with some folks I didn't know as well in high school. BF and I may get together with a few of the people.

The only thing that was a little uncomfortable was the amount of people who asked about my ex. See he went to this high school too but was a class ahead of me. Lots of the guys were on sports teams with him and knew him well. Some even asked what happened and I just replied that we were still friends. I was good enough not to get into any specifics and was glad I didn't. The only people I told were very close friends of mine who didn't know him very well and asked me about it. I didn't want to make him look ugly to his own friends and feel I did the right thing. I admit that was hard though.
