Funky Carpet
Lyrics by MM

I'd rather chat
Than rip up funky carpet

Who wants to shoot
The breeze?

Is anybody home?
I'd rather chat

I'd rather shoot
The breeze
Than rip up funky carpet.

Chorus:
I'd rather chat
Is anybody home
Is anybody home
Is anybody.....ooo ahhhh
I'd rather chat baby

Who wants to shoot
The breeze?

Who wants to shoot
The carpet
And rip up
Funky breeze baby?

Chorus:
I'd rather chat
Is anybody home
Is anybody home
Is anybody.....ooo ahhhh
OOO aahh ooo ahhh

Freaky funky white girl.
Living with a funky white carpet.
She got a house and she got a car
She aint got a man, just a funky white carpet.

She threw out the man and she sold the car
Now the funky white woman can't go very far

I think I can qualify for having the blues, even though I have all my own teeth.
No toothy implants here.

As long as his name isn't Bubba you can ship him here.....I might find enough drywall work to keep him busy for a very long time. In fact I will keep breaking new holes in walls should I need to.

Hell even if his name is Bubba he sounds hunky so send him my way after your done with him don't wear him out tooooo much though k

breakaway

November 3 2005, 9:39 PM

my favorite song.........from Kelly Clarkson
I could listen to this song over and over and over.

"Breakaway"

Grew up in a small town
And when the rain would fall down
I'd just stare out my window
Dreaming of what could be
And if I'd end up happy
I would pray (I would pray)

Trying hard to reach out
But when I tried to speak out
Felt like no one could hear me
Wanted to belong here
But something felt so wrong here
So I prayed I could break away

[Chorus:]
I'll spread my wings and I'll learn how to fly
I'll do what it takes til' I touch the sky
I'll make a wish
Take a chance
Make a change
And breakaway
Out of the darkness and into the sun
But I won't forget all the ones that I love
I'll take a risk
Take a chance
Make a change
And breakaway

Wanna feel the warm breeze
Sleep under a palm tree
Feel the rush of the ocean
Get onboard a fast train
Travel on a jet plane, far away (I will)
And breakaway

[Chorus]

Buildings with a hundred floors
Swinging around revolving doors
Maybe I don't know where they'll take me but
Gotta keep moving on, moving on
Fly away, breakaway

I'll spread my wings
And I'll learn how to fly
Though it's not easy to tell you goodbye
I gotta take a risk
Take a chance
Make a change
And breakaway
Out of the darkness and into the sun
But I won't forget the place I come from
I gotta take a risk
Take a chance
Make a change
And breakaway, breakaway, breakaway

Kid- You are a sweetheart.

Well, I went to Ca. ten days. The weather was 75-80 degrees. Since I don't like Ca. all that much, it was a nice treat. I visited with my mother and we shopped and ate lunch nearly every day at Whole Foods-the best large, organic health food market in the US.

On the emotional front, I have been going through some really deep psychological, spiritual growth. The kind that feels like your insides are being ripped out.

I have moments where I battle with the feeling that I'm a piece of shit.

I realized that when I was younger I never questioned that myth; I just lived my life as if it were true. I'll just destroy myself because that is what I'm worth.

The craziness of childhood can really lay a heavy burden on us. One that we can automatically access when we are triggered.

I accepted so much abuse in the past, and I am at the point where I can't take any more. And I'm real certain it was abuse: molestation, manipulation, the affair, cruel words, theft. Yeah it was abuse. Kindness and caring that's about all that this woman can deal with.

It's remarkable to know that people I know here, care.

You can be an inspiration Kid.

Of course I care

I have never met a more beautiful vibrant woman so never underestimate yourself. Besides you adopted me remember

Finding ourselves is a hard job when everybody has told us for many years what we should be. I battle the same thing myself. I was never good enough, always abused and always the piece of shit. I want more, I need more and hell I deserve more! We both do! Some days I struggle, but mostly I have accepted with peace the life I am living. At least it is my own, controlled by me with choices made by me. If anybody is to blame if something goes wrong its me hehe.

I find home renovations give you lots of time to be introspective. For some reason as I measure and measure again, cut, paint, and sand I find time to have moments of thought. Not sure what im going to do when my house is how I want it lol

Well I have to go check out the window and watch the snow fall.....our first "official" snowfall since they are calling for a sizeable amount. Temps predict it will melt before next week though whew! It looks so peaceful outside. White and innocent covering up all the brown and mud. I think I might go for a walk since it is still quite warm for this time of year. Wish you were here since I know you would think it is beautiful right now!

Hugs

MM - I waited all night for you to show to rip up my funky carpet. Did I give you bad directions? S'ok... I'll leave the light on for ya. (Me and Motel 6!)

Kid - Ya'll got SNOW? Gooooood grief. We're all complaining here because it's been in the 40s and 50s here. I can't even THINK about snow! Actually, what I can't think about is running my furnace during snow. I'm gonna have to get a second job to run the furnace this year. Ugh.

Natural gas? This winter, the firewood bidness seems like a good bet. If we have a cold one, firewood will be fetchin' mucho dineros.

MM/TL:

You never call, you never write and NOW I find out you were in California? I just knew you didn't love me anymore. sniffle, sniffle <guilt rant over>

Seriously, next time LET ME KNOW!!!!! You missed a sterling chance to meet #2, our charming children, both two and four legged. We would've loved to have seen you!

I would've bought lunch (and probably a whole heckofa lot else) at Whole Foods. I particularly like the brown rice sushi. And the best part is it could've been a write-off because #2 has a seriously large customer account down the road (the one called Middlefield) at the Milk Pail, a really cool, old-fashioned farmstand cum organic food store.

With all that, maybe we could've made the land of fruit and nuts a little more palatable.

November 4 2005, 12:50 PM

You think I should start my fire in the kitchen on the linoleum or in the dining room on the carpet? I WISH I had a fireplace!! I knew it was going to be bad when then city sent out a WARNING in October that gas prices were going to be flippin' ridiculous. Ok, maybe "that" isn't exactly what they said, but that's how I pronounced it.

Ummm ... maybe we could hold off on the fire idea for a little while ... at least until we can lay some tile and saw a hole in the roof?

Come to think of it, I don't have a fireplace at the moment either. And the people upstairs probably wouldn't appreciate a hole in their floor. Please understand ... they're nice people and all, but that might be a little too cozy. Hmmm. Maybe you and I need to move ...

Natural gas prices haven't went ridiculous here just yet. I pay about $125 on monthly equal billing for heat. For the months of December, January and February my bills without equal billing would be anywhere from $185 to $300 a month. In the summer though my gas bill is only $22. Equal billing works well for me since then I know how much I pay each month.

Define ridiculous Mon?

ps. I got up at my normal time Wednesday morning and dressed up for a fall trip. When I arrived in Omaha at noon, it was pushin' 80...and me dressed up in my best perfesser tweed. Oh, well.

I haven't been to Ana Mandara. I usually make pad thai at home when I get the hankering. Husky fur is my secret ingredient (j/k).

My new brother in law works at a beautiful Indian place that just moved from Ghiradelli Square to Sausalito. Next time you come down, we'll go to visit, then we'll take the furry ones to Muir Woods or Pt. Reyes.
