Friday =2xPork/Baked Beans*Potatoes= FOOD FRIDAY

Forgive me, but I've been in a training class this week that heavily emphasized statistics as the meaning of life. Let's just say I disagreed with the scientific solution.

So, to relax today, I'm making a sorta-kind-of-close-to mini-Thanksgiving for #2, his kids, his mom and me (and the dogs, if they're fast on their feet, LOL). Since I don't eat meat <waving to RW> and none of the carnivores really gives a flying about turkey (pun intended), I ordered a ham from a smokehouse in California, Missouri. (Aside: I always wonder what the folks in the shipping department think when they send a ham from California to California.) I decided to jest go down home and do the country cookin' thang, so we're also having sweet taters, mac and cheese (a vegetable in the infamous Tennessee meat'n'three), oven roasted garlic red potatoes, and Grandma Kearnan's baked beans. Put those babies in the oven at 5:30 this morning and they will be all nummy and delicious about 7:00 tonight. And MAN, does this house smell gggggooooooddddd (telecommuting today). I love to make Grandma's beans!!! I was given her bean pot when she passed away (I was a teenager then) and I wish I could bring her back and share some with her. Show her that my new family loves her beans. And on Thursday, when we do the other holiday, they'll love how she showed me to bake, too, as I'm on pie duty this year. Awww, now I'm getting a little misty with memories. So, what's all y'all doin' for food Friday?

Hey,
It is a 12 hour drive back home. But I am gonna go. I am blessed with so many things. I give thanks in all circumstances (note I did not say "FOR all").
I am thankful even now, during my emotional turmoil over the affair.
I am thankful to have my parents still alive and well. A roof over my head and people who love me. I am VERY glad to live in a country where I am FREE!!!

What did I do for Food Friday?

TONY'S!!!

Kat & T-Man understand...

Later that evening, my sis in law called, all excited 'cause she's on vacation (she arrives here this afternoon). She was stuck in traffic, so she asked me to have a Molson XXX in her honor. I went to the fridge and brought the beer to the phone so she could hear me open it...

We're doing a spiral ham on Tuesday (oldest daughters birthday), Chinese food on Wednesday, traditional turkey and everything else on Thursday, and heading out for prime rib on Saturday night (Take 5, local restaurant, Kat & T-Man understand that one too).

In other words, yours truly ain't doin' much cookin' this week!

Cory
