While on vacation in Florida, I attended the Queensryche concert, plus scored passes to meet the band afterwards. They're on tour supporting their Operation:Mindcrime 2 CD. 18 years ago, they recorded Operation:Mindcrime, a concept album that tells this really cool story. Mindcrime 2 picks up 18 years later, when the lead character in the story (played by Geoff Tate, lead singer) gets out of prison. The concert itself was more musical theatre, with people playing the main characters on stage. A screenplay HAS been written and is being shopped around for a movie deal. Here's some pics of the show and me with the band members....
Lead singer Geoff Tate, my nephew David, and me. Geoff is an operetically trained vocalist that sings rock. An incredible voice, to say the least.
David, me, and guitarist Mike Stone. Mike has an unusual method of keeping his fingers nimble while on the road. He practices his technique on one of the 5 ukelales he owns!
David, bassist Eddie Jackson, and me. Eddie is into golf, so he and my brother had a LOT to talk about...
David, singer Pamela Moor, and me. Pamela plays the part of Mary in the story, a former prostitute who became a nun. I think she liked me...
David, me, and drummer Scott Rockenfeld, signing my shirt. When I told Scott that I had been a fan for over 20 years, he said, "That means I have to give you the Queensryche disclaimer. We take NO responsibility for your mental state!" LOL
If you're a fan of hard rock, DO NOT miss this show if it comes to your area. They're playing nothing but smaller, theatre type venues, so bad seats aren't a problem on this tour. You can check out their website at www.queensryche.com if you're interested.

LOL Chris, I learned a lesson back in '84, 3 days after seeing Iron Maiden for the first time, when my ears finally stopped ringing: Wear earplugs!! Thankfully, my W works in a shop where those disposable foam earplugs are required. They're PERFECT for concerts, as it takes out all the distortion and "noise" but allows you to hear clearly the music being played.
RW, thanks for the compliment. I'm sending you my spare cane, I think you might need it soon...
Carol said, "Uhm...Pamela Moor is a little too friendly there Cory! What did your wife say? LOL"
She didn't say anything, Carol. She knows that women just can't control themselves when they're around me... Just ask any of the ladies here who have met me... Then again, don't. I'd like to stay delusional, thanks... LOL

As one of those ladies, I have to say, there's nothing delusional about you, Cory.
Having fun can be an important part of healing. So around here we share our fun, we poke fun, and we make jokes. It was my experience (and the experience of many others) that I couldn't and didn't laugh very much for a while after D-day. When I found the predecessor to this site, I noticed that people like Cory and RW found humor in things, made jokes with each other, and maybe even poked a little fun. I remember actually ASKING Cory and Quinn "when did you get your sense of humor back".
Every now and then you'll see flaky posts or whole threads that aren't relevant to affair recovery on the surface. But sharing stuff like this helps healing. Trust me on that.

Nope we can't control ourselves We also can't control YOU...walking across streets with a cane and plenty of traffic.
