The next newsletter is Nov 20th. The last one was sent out August 15, Which featured the West Nile article which was a timely reminder because there was so much flooding/rainy season going on at the time. We have a quarterly timeline. If you didn't Ken let me know and we'll send you another one.
We have a check list of names for each newsletter that is sent out to double check that we don't miss anyone with the address labels (which happened too often in the past by our family helpers) I know at this end we had everyone on the list, but Ten days to get one of the newsletters to Karrie's which is only 2 hours away, something was wrong there. I know Mark had problems as well but found out he lived in an appartment building and his postman just was not good at sticking his in his box. Problem wasn't at this end.
THat's the first time I have heard that reason, and the first time I have gotten a reasonable response to my rather abrupt, frustrated jabbs at the organization. Dammed near two years and that's the first reasonable response I've gotten. Maybe some people are getting a clue that loosing members, and ignoring people is not the best way to run an organization. I never would have lost faith had i heard this excuse two years ago. Too bad I defiled my mug and t-shirt with a permanent marker, but in the chainsaw carving hall of fame museum, I'm sure that it won't be the last artifact of dissention toward a governing body in the chainsaw carving industry. Hope fully the new guy and his great resume will help the guild to be less political, and more carving community oriented...It really doesn't take a lot of time to be nice to people, and actually listen to what they are saying, it takes a lot more to get upset about misunderstanding them, and carrying it to work with you, and going to bed at nite wondering why they are being so awful to you, when they are simply wondering why people are so stupid and ignorant. leadership is a long road of overcoming obstacles, and effective leadership is a two way street of balancing out differences.
Hope you don't think I was targeting you , or any current directors. Since 2005, it has eaten at me,as I think a leading organization should show some leadership, and use it's good assets, instead of giving them the ass end. I feel as though the demons have been appeased, thank you very much for taking the time to effectively answer my concerns, hope fully things will keep going in a positive direction.
Lance, you came with one of the best resumes I have ever seen! I look forward to hearing your ideas and working together in making the UCCG guild stronger. Thanks for coming on board. Cindy King
They couldn't have chosen a more thoughtful person to represent the Guild and the artform. Your integity will take you a long way buddy. Congrates, Mike Kauffman
Hi Dick, as I remember it was only 6 bucks. I'll take the 10 though, must be the interest added. Might be 20 before we cross paths again. See ya soon hopefully, Mike
Congrats Lance. You'll do us good I'm sure.
Although I'm not currently a member and have no say, I do still care. Now all you have to do is pull up hard on a couple anchors and hopefully get the ship moving. Good luck.
