I was wondering if anyone is familiar with a chainsaw woodcarver by the name of Gene Munchausen. My father is a woodcarver living in Michigan. Many years ago, my dad was inspired to begin woodcarving by some comments that Mr. Munchausen made to him. Mr Munchausen recognized creativity in my dad and gave him his first block of wood to start carving.
Woodcarving is something that has been very fufilling to my dad over the years and seeing the pieces he has created has given our family a tremendous amount of joy He has been attempting to contact Mr Munchasen but it has been so many years and we are having difficulty locating him. At that time Mr Munchausen lived in Michigan (I believe somewhere possibly in the Bay City area) and worked for a large construction equipment company. We believe he would probably be in his 70's or so today. My dad would really like to contact him and thank him for his words of inspiration and also show him some of the pieces he has since created.
I am hoping that you will be able to aid us in our search. Please email me and let me know if you have any information that might help. If not, are you aware of any other chainsaw woodcarving connections we might try?
