Hi Dick!

December 11 2007, 4:39 AM

I have to share this bit of my own carving/learning experience with ya! When I first started carving I was like most (I think) whereas I would take a tiny cut stand back & analyses & worry about taking too much or screwing up & I came to the realization of a couple of things. First was with using this type of process I was working totally on the left side, the Doctor Spock side, of my brain & until I just said "the hell with it & let her go" I was stuck there. The second is I created two sayings I use for my own self confidence creation & they are "there is no such thing as perfection & there are no straight lines in nature". This works well & about a year ago I challenged myself to try to do at least some of my carvings without reference material to do what I now call intuition carvings. This triggers the right side of the brain on instantly & allows the analytical side (the left) to shut down & taps directly into the area, in the example I use is, the area where we can still picture people from our childhood. To explain this even better, if you use intuition & practice it any, images, smells, sounds or anything we have ever experienced in our entire life is in this library we call our minds & with practice & self assurance & trusting our own intuitions we can do this! This also opens up many more abilities & the mind to other things never dreamed of by me before. If we allow our intuition to test itself it pays us back 100 fold each time.
Thanks & hope you all understand what I been rambling on about here?

Might Have Been the "Blue"

Sorry about the Robbin. It's very obvious this morning. I tried it with my eagle pattern. Couldn't get the same results. Need to play with it for a while. Great carving as usual. Thanks for sharing.
