It's a UCCG issue right?
I'm sure it's complicated and I respect both sides of this split, however..I (as a UCCG member) am saddened by the "accusation based" resignation letters popping up on other boards.
Since it is such a public issue now...I'll add that I was raised to stay on any team I joined for the season..even if I was benched unfairly. I don't think anybody will suffer as much as the members by this mass-exodus. I would rather see some things that were discussed in the meeting minutes become a reality as opposed to reading a Directors message board. Any goals the Guild had are now on the back burner with all this in-fighting.
Who is really suffering from this split?

I agree with Jen.
You have a strong opinion, you get upset, you feel powerless, so to make a point you quit. Stress relieved (whoo! feels good!), makes a splash but the ripples go away. Now the situation that got your goat is still there and all the more unresolved because no one is left to fix it the way you want it.
You have more power if you stay where you are.
However, I don't blame anyone who is passionate enough to want change, to feel overwhelmed and angry when they feel a situation is frustrating beyond their ability to control it. These people do have other lives, and if their personal lives are negatively affected, move on. It not worth it.
