Subject: Carver in SE PA

We have a very old cherry tree. A swing that we’ve enjoyed sitting on and looking out to our pastures hangs from one of the branches. Unfortunately, both the tree and we are getting older, but we think we will last longer than the tree. Ants have gotten into the trunk, and the limbs are wired together to keep them from falling off. I don’t think the tree has much longer to go.

At the time our tree meets its demise, we’d like to have an artistically pleasing bench carved in the remains of the trunk, so we can continue to sit there and enjoy the view, while remembering the joy the tree has brought to us over the years.

Is there someone you could recommend for this project when the time comes for the tree to come down? We’re in S.E. PA, about half way between Philadelphia, PA and Wilmington, DE. If there is, we’d like to have some idea as to what height the tree trunk should remain for the carver to work on, as well as the cost of the project. We’d be happy to meet with the person in advance, and perhaps see some of his/her work.

Looking forward to your reply,

Ed Borer

We were staying right by your farm in Feb. before we went to Ridgway. We will be up that way again in June. My husband can carve that cherry tree for you. Could you please call me at 601-649-6045. Check Dayton out on our website. www.artistryinwood.com Thanks
