I have a Siberian Husky Rescue that hosts a BIG event in January in Damascus VA (southwest VA). Jan 17 we will host our 3rd re-enactment of the 1925 ALASKA SERUM RUN on the Virginia Creeper Trail with dogsleds. Over 1,000 people line the 16 mile trail and end up in the park in Damascus VA.
Being an outdoors/wilderness/ Alaska life saving event, we also include an "Alaska Lumberjack competition" provided by Virginia Tech Forestry Club. ( photo 3 or 4th down on theis link.) You will also see a PART of the crowd that welcomes the first of the parade of dogsleds. It was 28 degrees on this day. The dogs really draw a crowd. The lumberjack competition goes over really well.

I would love it if someone in your guild would like to come and do a chainsaw carving, They can sell their carvings, and do as many carvings as they want. Free space for the entertainment. The event is from 10:00 to 3:00. The dogsleds take off 16 miles away and most of the crowd comes in by 12:00. We will have more entertainment at the park that day.

* This year witht ehd dogsled re-enactment we will again have a daschund race, lumberjack competition, and a border collie "herding demonstration" at the park. There is a pavillion if they would like to do the carving on a stage.
