2010 UCCG Awards

Just wanted to put a reminder out there that this summer when you are on the road, doing shows, competitions or meeting other carvers in all the ways there are to meet folks, keep in mind the 2010 UCCG Awards.

The Guild won't be asking for nominees until some time late fall, early winter. So keep the following in mind during your travels this carving season..

Achievement Awards Criteria
Categories

Lifetime Achievement Award in Memory of Bill Plant
*The recipient of this award should be a carver that has Lived, Loved and Promoted the art of Chainsaw Carving during his Lifetime. Their effort must have had a positive effect on growth, education, or betterment of the Chainsaw community.

Service to the Arts Award
*This award is focused on the movers and shakers in our industry whether it be individual or business. Nominees must have helped in a positive way, our art form to become elevated to a higher standard, by performance, or demonstration by example to the Carving and Public community.

Emerging Artist Award
*This Award would be for the Budding Artist. They must have been recognized as a carver that has progressed by leaps and bounds, noticeable by the carver community, with less than 5 years experience in the chainsaw carving industry

General Guide lines
*Awards are open to UCCG members
*Candidates may only be considered for one award category per year.
*Candidates may only receive one award every three years.
*Past award recipients may not be re-nominated for the same award.
*Past Service Awards winners may not be re-nominated until three (3) years have passed since last winning award.
*All nominations must follow specific award guidelines in their category.

if no one stands out as a candidate for a particular award, don't award it.
