Who Authenticates - How to Authenticate - Boggs Rookie Jersey

I'm not much of a game used collector but I have a few items including a Mattingly 1991 game used jersey, batting helmet, and 2 hats. I also have a Boggs 1983 rookie game used away jersey.

So here's my question... I bought the Boggs game jersey from a Robert Edward Auction many years ago. It did come with letters stating it is authentic from a few different people/authenticators. I am going to be selling this jersey since Boggs is now an HOF'er and this is his rookie jersey. (All tages from '83 season). However, I want to have this jersey authenticated again before I auction it off. Who should I use? How do I get into contact with this person? I'm looking for general iinformation as I know nothing!!! Please feel free to email me at jon_canfield@hotmail.com. I appreciate the help!

Who Authenticates - How to Authenticate - Boggs Rookie Jersey

I should mention that off the top of my head, the letters come from REA, the guy who sued to write the column for SCD on game items (can't remember his name), and another company (Something ____ Sports, LLC). I don't have the authentication documents around to look at but I remember these were the 3 authenticators.) Basically, I'm now looking for who is most respected to authenticate since I have no doubt of the autneticity of the jersey - I just want the authentication for resale value.

I checked... Dave Miedima is one who authenticated the first time... (Sorry for all these posts but I don't see an option to edit my original post).

Boggs jersey authenticating

February 4 2005, 11:36 AM

Hi Jon. I suggest you contact Rob Steinmetz to look at the shirt. His website is www.authenticgamers.com and he is 100% trustworthy. In my 5 years of knowing him, he has always done his homework and told the truth, even when people didn't want to hear it. I believe he is also doing some authenticating for Global now, which is good as I know he will not bow to the pressure from some of the "big shots" (Bushing) to authenticate things that he knows are crap. He is one of the few guys out there trying to clean up the hobby by making it safe for old and new collectors to feel safe.
