I just found a Bo Jackson game used bat that was purchased from Jose Canseco's personal collection. It comes with a COA from Canseco and is signed to Jose from Bo Jackson and is also signed by Canseco. The bat is a Louisville Slugger B310 Block letter Bo Jackson 86-89 Modeling period. What do you guys think the bat would be worth?
You must have been in St. Louis recently. If so, I know the bat and the owner. It doesn't show any apparent game use. I was told by the owner it was a gift to Canseco from Jackson at an all-star game and was signed by Jackson. The current owner bought it from Canseco at a card show where Jose was a guest; that's when Jose singed it. A while back, I inquired about it and was told he'd sell it for $350. When I asked again recently, he told me $500. I thought about buying it when it was cheaper, but couldn't pull the trigger because it was unused (I got much less interested when the price went up). I generally consider an issued bat to be worth half (or less) of an actual used bat, though this one is helped by the autographs (at least by Bo's... Canseco's might actually drag the value down!). I don't know what it's worth, but the owner has brought it to several shows for at least 2-3 years... meaning lots of people have seen it and passed on it, at both $350 and $500. It's a nice bat -- I just wish it was used. Hope that helps.
