Astros 1970s-80s Nameplates

Hi, I know how a lot of people feel about restored nameplates, so I might have an answer for those Astros collectors out there. In 1999, I secured over 500+ original nameplates from Astros jerseys from the 1970s to mid 80s. All are orignal and are in the same condition from the day they were stripped off the jerseys. Many of those jerseys were sent to the minors. I obtained these when the Astros were cleaning out the Astrodome on the way to Enron Field (current Minute Maid Park). I have helped many collectors restore their jerseys to like new condition. Unfortunately, many of the Astros rainbow jerseys on the market have had the names on back restored with new lettering. It was very common for a Houston area dealer to use the pants material (which are easy to come by) to make the name plate. The letters can easily be created. If interested or need some help, pleae let me know!

Thanks,

Chris Boyd
