I just discovered this website and it seems really great! My question for all of you knowledgeable people out there is what ever became of Tim McAuliffe Sporting Goods? As far as I can tell they supplied jerseys to some MLB teams as late as the late 1970s and then seem to have dropped off the face of the earth. Did they change their name, go belly up or were they swallowed up by someone else? Thanks!
I can vaguely remember this company from my days in the sporting goods business but it may have gone out of business about the time I started. I did find some reference in a google search. I think this company, like Sandknit, made some top of the line athletic apparel. Maybe like Stall & Dean, another sporting goods softgoods- uniform maker in Boston, it got too expensive to produce these products and the company went out of business or was acquired. Conjecture on my part. One of our panelists Vikes66 may know.

Robert -- sorry I couldn't be more informative on Tim McAuliffe Co. If you don't hear further on this forum, please let me suggest contacting one of the Boston newsapers or the public library there to see what they have on the company. Library may be more helpful. But, the newspaper may have something in their "morgue" (archives - microfiche).
