Kent jersey..ISSUED

I never received an email from you about that jersey. I did not deceive anyone in the listing. I stated that it was purchased from a guy who bought it as game used. It had all the team issued tagging. I sold it as game issued. I did not know the history of this jersey. This is the listing word for word....

2001 JEFF KENT #21

San Francisco Giants

Game Issued Jersey

Game Worn??

2001 JEFF KENT #21 San Francisco Giants Game Issued Jersey. We recently purchased this jersey from a collector who bought the jersey as a 2001 Kent 9/11 Game worn jersey. He paid approx. $450 for it. He sold it to us as game issued or possibly a salesman's sample. We are selling it as a Kent Game Issued jersey. It shows little to no wear.....RARE Black alternate "SAN FRANCISCO" jersey. Jersey is made by Russell Athletic. Size 50 ( team issued as evidence of size and poly tag being in the tail under Russell tag and not in the collar).. Has Giants team patch on one sleeve. Has USA flag 9/11 patch sewn on back over MLB logo patch. All numbers and letters are sewn on tackle twill with 3 color and 3 layers of tackle twill. "KENT" is sewn on anmepalte on back. The Giants only wore these jerseys during the 2001 and 2002 seasons

Does that look like I tried to put one over on anyone? I stnad behind all of my jerseys. I listed what I knew about the jersey and left it up to the bidder. It sold for $197.

Get your facts straight.

Definition of Team/Game Issued

March 9 2005, 9:09 PM

I know nothing about this particular jersey, and I'm not faulting anyone here, but this dispute is part of a much bigger problem. The terms "game issued" and "team issued" have been horribly abused over the last several years. In my humble estimation, a "game issued" or "team issued" jersey is a jersey that is game ready, made EXACTLY to the specs that the player uses (or used) on the field. This would include size, customizations, lettering style, etc. Too many jerseys are floating around as "game issued" or "team issued" that are nothing like what the player would have worn on the field. If it doesn't match the player's specs, it would NEVER have been issued by the team for game use!

With that said, this Kent jersey may have started out life as a blank pro cut jersey (size 50), but obviously wasn't prepared for Kent to use. Was the description slightly misleading? Perhaps. Should Splinters be expected to know as much about Giants knits as Mike Quick? No way. This jersey sold for $50 more than a jersey off the rack would go for - perhaps the buyer thought the pro size 50 was worth the extra money. As long as Splinters made an honest mistake and makes good with the buyer (if he/she is unhappy), we should move on.

Hi Rob

Hi Rob,

Your comments are well received by me. The thing is, on this Forumn everyone talks about "self policing" this bobby as a good thing. But, in return, when a person is notified that an item is COMPLETELY bogus, and does nothing, one can NOT have it both ways. He can claim all he wants that he never got my messages, but they are in my outbox. He chose to ignore them. I think the root of this, is that I called his hand one time for "fishing" on my ebay auctions. Finding the high bid, then retracting his. He was warned by ebay of this. It's just that everyone in this "hobby" are pretending to be virgins, in whore houses.

Regards,

Mike

Dear jerseys2003,

That Kent Jersey is Completely BOGUS. It originated from Grey Walker in NV. It is FAKE, wrong style letters and numbers on the back. Fonts are COMPLETELY wrong, also Kent NEVER wore a size 50 with the Giants. This FAKE jersey has been circulating the hobby for over two years.

Please respond to the question on eBay by clicking the button below. You'll have the option to display your response directly on the listing.

Right.....

March 10 2005, 10:30 AM

Yep, you and OJ....funny thing, I asked others to send emails to you through ebay with questions, just to check. You replied to all of those other questions, not from me...strange. Since, they would all have come through ebay's mail system as being from aw-confirm@ebay.com . No way to filter one from ebay, and not another. We can drop this, the horse is dead. Since, you will never own up to being less than honest on this issue.

Kind Regards,

Mike

Maybe I never received your email because you are on our blocked bidder list, as We are on your blocked list. Maybe ebay will not send messages because of this? I do not know the answer. And yes you are right the issue is dead.

Blah...Blah...Blah...

You are right, you have been blocked for "fishing" for reserves on my auctions, and revealing reserves, then cancelling your bids. This has NOTHING to do with the ebay email system.....nice try though.....you have more excuses than OJ.....
