For the last day or so I saw a lot of posts from williemays660 and thought i'd contribute my own personal experiences with this guy. Last summer he posted a jersey on eBay (Casey Blake 2001 Ripken Farewell Home White #61 jersey) and with less than 2 minutes to go, I was high bidder. Much to my disappointment, the auction was ended EARLY by this seller with approx 30 secs left with the ebay notation "Item is no longer for sale." (back then eBay would end items per the seller's request at any time). Afterwards, I emailed Williemays660 & he told me that he had already "sold the jersey off his on-line store" and that is was no longer available as well as telling me that I was foolish to think that I could purchase this jersey for my high bid (I suspected that he just didn't get the high bid he wanted).
Lo & behold, approximately 5-6 months later I see the EXACT jersey on eBay being sold by williemays660 again (the one I was told was sold). Deal at your own risk!
That jersey was sold, and traded back in. I have a full listing of my jerseys for sale on my website. Once a jersey is sold, it is removed in my inventory on the website. I do often take trades...if it was 5-6 months, and I had it all the time..why would I wait. I recently sold two Casey Blake's, one that was part of a trade on ebay, the other was not. They both sold for less than the first time. Unless, you know exactly what you are talking about, you should keep your mouth shut, than to open it and prove you are very foolish.
If you indeed sold this jersey why would you possibly wait until the last minute to remove it from eBay (you could could removed it earlier)?? A very convenient response is that you "sold" it and it was "traded" back in within a few months. Thats about as credible as OJ looking for the "real killers." Anyways, readers of this post, I'd suggest that you deal with this person carefully (I know I won't be)!
Don't be fooled by his response to an eBay feedback. My name on this board was established just earlier this week (my first 6 choices were taken) & my eBay ID is entirely different (back to 1998 with feedback of close to 500). Avoid!
Yes, I do remember removing a jersey very close to the end, and it could have been a Blake, I do not remember. But, I travel quite a bit with my job and had a standing offer for the jersey. The bids on ebay did not meet the amount, so I did stop it. Almost did not get back in time to stop it. Please review my feedback on ebay. I stand behind what I sell. But, I unlike other ebay sellers, don't hesitate to leave negative feedback when someone stiffs me, or misrepresents an item to me. I am not "affraid" of negative retaliatory feedback as other sellers are. No violation of ebay policy here. It was completely allowed on ebay then. Nothing underhanded. See, the difference with your post vs mine, on other threads, is that I have proof of irregulars...you have nothing. Just false assumptions.
But, your statements of Fraud, with absolutely no basis, are cause for legal libel.. I would be very careful.
You've been dragged across the carpet and you come with the "I sold the jersey and ended the auction early". Yeah, that's fine of you ended the auction with DAYS or even HOURS left... not SECONDS. What happened? Tell me if I've got it right: with 1 minute left in the auction you miraculously struck a deal with someone who happended to be on your website..finally make the sale or trade..quickly log into ebay and ended that auction with only SECONDS to spare.. PLEASE. AND then after all this the buyer traded it back for you to sell on ebay again...Instead of offering a good explanation or just owning up to it (as it was allowed at that time), you try "character assassination" on the person who posted against you.. WEAK very WEAK...If you are gonna dish out expect to receive it also....
Nothing else to say...I said I had a standing offer for the jersey. I hoep you understand english. Stopping auctions on ebay then was obsolutely allowed then. Trying to explain this, is like trying to teach geometry to a monkey.
First you said you sold it...now you are saying you ended it because it didn't meet your price which speaks volumes of what kind of ebay seller you are...Yeah "no reserve unless it doesn't reach what i want for it"
There is a huge difference in stopping a legit item, vs selling fake items, as my threads reference. If this is the sad state of this hobby now, the great Dick Dobbins would be rolling over in his grave. This hobby is full of intellectual midgets.
Of course the fact that it was never an "official" eBay transaction prohibits feedback, etc. I don't think anyone was questioning the legitimacy of the item being sold (like who would sell a phoney Casey Blake jersey?). In my opinion, it speaks to your character and the the manner in which you treat transactions, people, etc. You had no problem coming on this board to criticize other members (none of which I know, by the way), but somehow want to separate yourself as a "better person."
All I ask the other boards members here is not to deal with this person..........By the way, I'm still sticking to FRAUD!
Now you are trying to place degrees on a seller's "auction etiquette"... So, what are we to assume - What you did was bad but as not as reprehensible as selling fake memorabilia... Fine, I'll give you that... But what you did, although allowed by ebay, speaks volumes about the kind of seller you are...On a scale of 1-10 of bad selling etiquette what should we give you a "3"...
BTW, it's interesting that he can't dispute anything I said about this deal. As an aside the '95 Ripken Jr. road that he has for sale on his web-site is fake too. I have confirmed with Ripken BB that everyone of Ripken's 1995 jersey's have been accounted for......

Please come back when you grow up. FYI that Ripken is not mine, I have it listed for a friend, Lon Lewis. If you don't him or his contacts, it shows your pure stupidity. I was asked to join this website for weeks. But, always hesitated, becaused I recognized about 50-60% of the people on this site as pure liars, deadbeats, sellers of fake stuff, or dealer wanna-bee's. I believe you fall into most of these catagories. If you feel compelled to still be so stupid, please contact me for Lon's number. I will gladly give it to you so he can put you into your place.
I've been in this hobby a long time and I have never heard of a Lon Lewis.....He must be a real gem if he has you selling his phoney material for him (lets face it, him or his "contacts" could have easily sold it themselves). I'm asking other board members what they know of this hobby "Icon?" OMG, I can't beleieve I have never of this guy?
We really need to control the personal attacks and the "this is fake, that is fake" crap that isn't backed up by fact. I understand this is a heated discussion, but let's not lay claims on this board that aren't backed with well thought out, fact-based evidence.
f you are going to claim the '95 Ripken that is being sold is "fake", please describe HOW you came to this conclusion. Present this board with complete sentences, facts, and sources for your information - or these claims should be removed. This mud-slinging is happening on a daily basis...let's try to act like grown-ups.
