Bogus Ripken Bros. Signed Ball from STEINER on Yahoo!

So much for my faith in Steiner! I can't believe Steiner can let such terrible forgeries go with their COA. I've seen some galant attempts to forge Ripken autographs but these are as bad as it gets! Someone should purchase it and take them to court! ( I didn't say that).

Ripken Sigs

I don't know Billy's sig well but that doesn't look like an Orioles Cal sig. Maybe they both signed this when they were teenagers back in Aberdeen! (lol)

Ripken Sigs

Hey they do state, "Please note the baseball has been damaged, the baseball has yellowed". Maybe they mean the sig on the baseball has been damaged.

I have to say that Steiner is as good as it gets. Hopefully they will respond to this......

Auction pulled from Yahoo Auction Site

March 31 2005, 10:18 AM

Within an hour of this posting I was contacted via email from Steiner Sports regarding this post. I provided my phone number and was immediately contacted by them to as specifics about this particular auction. The listing was questionable in their minds as it did not show on their scrolls. They promised to call back after they investigated the issue but I have not heard from them. Interestingly enough, the auction listing is no longer on the Yahoo auction site.

Billy/Cal Ball on Yahoo Auction

April 4 2005, 1:29 PM

Today I personally spoke with Robert Vazquez from Steiner Sports. I recieved a full explanation regarding the autographed ball in question and was informed that the wrong photograph was originally attached to the auction and now has been rectified and the correct photo of the ball is live on the Yahoo auction site. Thanks to Robert and Steiner for personally getting in touch with me, clearing up the discrepencies, and getting back to me for closure! It's good to know this auction site is getting exposure from all elements in the game used hobby business.
