Eric.. A response to your ?

April 18 2005, 11:51 AM

Eric, this will be a bit of a story so please ecxuse the long post. In 2003 after the National Mill Creek Sports put up for sale some 2001 Arizona Diamondbacks game used (they said) jerseys for sale. It was explained to me that the D'Backs wore their Home Whites for game 1 only and wore the vest style jerseys for the rest of the Home games. Ok, so from what i was told, the D'Backs were going to do a display at the stadium with the Home jerseys and had all the players sign the back of the jerseys.. the display never became a reality so the jerseys werte sold. I tried to verify this through the D'Backs management to say yes this happend or no it did not.. no one in their front office knew what I was talking about nor did they know if the players got their jerseys or if the team kept any.. I tried for 2 months to verify this with the D'BNacks.. no luck. Anyhow, I just figured it could be true since the D'Backs could not virify anything. So, I picked up a Damian Miller from Mill Creek Sports on 8/4/03 for 500.00. Has a LOA with it written clearly game used Home World Series jersey. Now.. a while back a ebay user (jr24air23) sold 3 D'Backs jerseys on ebay that were the same as my Miller but were sold as game issueds.. (Bill Hobson bought and sold one recently) and the jerseys were the ones left that I knew for sure Mill Creek had not sold yet. So I e-mailed that user asking if the were issueds or worn as I was told they were game used when they tried to sell them to me.. Anyhow, I was told that these jerseys were issueds as these players did not play in game 1. I knew Miller played in game 1 so no big deal. Well, as everyone knows I have been trying to sell some jerseys and I posted the Miller on ebay for sale.. I kept getting e-mails from different users stating that the D'Backs only wore their Vest jerseys in ALL of the home games.. so I did some searching and look at ebay auction #5186057971, it is from the opening game of the series and the D'Backs are in their Vest jerseys. So I did some other searching and I cannot find the D'Backs ever wearing thier Homes with Sleeves in that series. So at best I got a game issued but was sold a game worn. I am going to call them today and HOPE they will rectify this......we will see.

Mill Creek

April 18 2005, 2:58 PM

I have not purchased anything from Mill Creek Sports in several years. They used to have an in with A-Rod and Griffey Jr (sometime between 1996-1999 if I remember correctly). They also had a ton of Big Hurt stuff. I go to the National every other year and have seen them there a couple times. Everything that I have seen of theirs has appeared to be good and I know that they had a lot of player contacts. I have never tried to return anything to them but they had been very easy to deal with. Good luck with your jersey. I hope that you are able to work it out.

Regards,
Andy

Thanks for the Good Luck Cheer

April 18 2005, 3:46 PM

Andy, thank you for the good luck cheer. I want to speciafy that I do not think that Mill Creek Sports sells bad items, I know they were TOLD these were game worn when they bought them at the National.. and because of them being a Rep for A-Rod and Griffey I had no reason not to think this jersey was no good. I have showed it to a few people and no one up to this weekend ever brought up these Home with Sleeves had not been worn. It shows very light if any use..so I saw no reason to buy the 2001 WS video or to try to photo match it... it looks right, its tagged right, its just not worn. I called Mill Creek and spoke with a employee today and they said their owner Scott was not in.. but took my info and I game them my purchase date and such. I still have the credit card receipt and their LOA showing the jersey was bought and shipped directly to me... so I hope they do offer me a return. Since I have had it since Aug. of 2003, I would be willing to work with them on a resolution... I'll post a update on this after I hear from Scott.. i really hope I do get this fixed.. thanks again.

I consider Mill Creek Sports the best in the business

April 18 2005, 11:28 PM

I just wanted to chime in on this string and say I think Mill Creek Sports is fantastic. I live in the Seattle area and buy almost exclusively from Mill Creek (except for an eBay transaction every now and then). I have 100% faith that every item they offer to be authentic. I have never had a problem- and even when I have had Mill Creek items 3rd party authenticated (just because sometimes I have had nagging suspicions on items and just needed to be 110% sure) - they have always been declared good. They have great stuff—a lot of unique and hard to find items! I consider myself lucky to have a memorabilia shop like this in my home town.

The employees and owner of MCS are stand-up guys. I’m sure they will stand behind the sale and take care of any issue you have with your item.

The Best

They will back any item that they sell. They made a fortune being honest. The had Griffey, Thomas, Bonds and know Icharo. You can take any thing that they sell to the bank.

I'd be interested in seeing what they have to say..

April 20 2005, 3:21 AM

I'm not sure who the owner(s) are or who all works there but there is a few eBay accounts that are associated to MCSC, jr24air23 being one of them. I felt that they were top notch and totaly accountable for their jerseys until a jersey I bought and really looked at it later. It is listed in this thread under "Game Worn CSI", yes that jersey was purchased from someone associated with MCSC.

Too many things don't add up in my opinion. I've inquired about some discrepencies before and got "we got it from the team that way", nothing more. I don't have anything against anyone there or the store itself but it's hard to ignore some of these things.

GREAT NEWS UPDATE

April 23 2005, 2:05 AM

I said I would post a update on this and I wanted to follow through. I called Mill Creek Sports on Tuesday and the immediately let me return the jersey... they were MORE than pleasant about it. Not only did they take the jersey back, they paid me in with a full return, they also paid the return shipping of the jersey from me back to them, and my original shipping was refunded as well. They made my return smooth as could be and not once did they make me feel like I was doing something wrong. I just got my money back in my bank account 48 hours after my return. That was a TRUE CLASS ACT and I really apppreciate the guys at Mill Creek.. I just wanted to let everyone know they more than took care of me.. thanks again for your time and reading my postings.
