Question for everyoneMay 4 2005 at 12:32 PM | Matt (Login JerseyCollector) |
| I have a question to throw out there.
Specifically- how has this forum helped you?
For me, it has given me a great list of names of people who are willing to provide expertise before I lay down the cash. It has been an incredible asset.
It has also taught me which auction houses are working to help the buyers- the new policies to prevent authenticators from selling at auction was a huge step. That's Robert Edward Auctions. We have also heard stories of Vintage Authentics and American Memorabilia pulling items which have been questioned with proof offered by members of this forum. I think we have made a good connection there. How companies work to rectify matters when things go wrong is very important to me, because it's bound to happen.
I read this forum every day and look forward to hearing your thoughts each day.

I'm a small time collector (mostly vintage cards) but I do check this Forum out daily. What I get out of it is the education of knowing who to trust, what's wrong with certain items and I enjoy when GU experts pound on items that are known to them to be bad.
I love when there's a jersey up for auction that is 'supposed to game worn' and then a few of you will whip out stills from a 1973 NFL game, zooming in on certain imperfections and proving that it's not actual jersey.
I now know what to look for and if I am interested in something and I know where to turn to. The Buying section has provided me with three solid additions and the Forum provides some really nice people willing to share their education with those that are rather limited.
