In reviewing a few jerseys on Ebay, I noticed what appears to be a legit Griffey Jr. 2003 Reds road vest. What is odd, however, is the manufacturing tag. It is made by Rawlings, and appears to have the correct size, extra length and usual style Reds "Property of...." tag. I thought the Reds used Russell jerseys in 2003, not Rawlings. Rob at AUTHENTICGAMERS.COM also has a 2003 road Griffey vest, however, his is a Russell brand.

Any Reds experts want to shed some light on this?

I don't know everything there is to know about Reds shirts, but I'm certain Russell is the correct manufacturer. I've never heard of a Rawlings Reds shirt like this, and I can't recall seeing a paper fiber tag like that on a Rawlings shirt (from any team). Don't most have year/set FLAG tagging? Aside from the Rawlings tag, the rest of the tagging looks like something Russell produced. Could this be a salesman sample?

Good point about the tags. The norm for Rawlings is indeed a flag tag, not the long paper-like year tag.

I doubt it would be a salesmans sample-why would Rawlings have a sample of a Reds jersey?

I'm sure someone in the forum will shed some light on this.

Any insight as to who the seller is?
