Lou asks for the following to be included with each order
Your name, address, and phone number

Inventory list of what was included
Also, if you have a question regarding game worn equipment, submit the question to Lou at the above address.
Lou is currently serving as an authenticator for 100% Authentic and works independently. He has no additional affilations and is not a member of MEARS.
I have to say, Lou does not make it easy. For a guy who has his hands in a lot of what is conssidered authentic on our hobby, it's very hard to actually locate him. Folks like Troy, Dave Bushing, Dave Grob provide many different ways to find them. Email addresses, cell phone numbers, posts on this website- all we get from Lou is a street address? If I wanted to ask a question about something Lou has written a letter on, I have to mail him a letter? You've got to do better than that.
Part of being involved in the authentication/opinion process is being able to answer questions from potential buyers. People do it all the time on this site. There should be nothing secret about the process in which authenticators (or in these days 'opinionators') used to come up with their findings.
I have heard people on this site complain that Lou is hard to track down, and I guess he hasn't changed his ways. In this day and age it couldn't be easier to communicate and you have to work pretty hard to shield yourself from that. Exactly what Lou's doing, and in my opinion it's bad for the hobby.
Thank you for the info as promised. This is the first time I have ever seen ANY contact info for Lou Lampson.
I have to agree with Matt in regard to actually contacting Mr. Lampson. It is totally ridiculous for an authenticator / business to only have a snail mail contact.
At the very least, in addition to a mail contact, Mr. Lampson should have a e-mail address for customers to contact him at. He requires customers to provide contact info, it should be mutual.
Troy - - - - - thanks for the post and following through - - - - - you've been doing more and more of that lately and it can only help SCDA, you, MEARS, and (most importantly) the hobby. Dave G. has set a good example of this - - - - - It is appreciated. - - - -- I find it very curious that Lou is so resistant to providing his contact information. - - - - - I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks it to be odd that he won't give a phone number or email address. - - - - - I for one (and I know I'm not alone) will not be contacting him with questions by snail mail - - - - - and I guess that is what he wants.
Troy,
Thanks for listing Lou Lampson's address and authentication rates.
I assume he does not have an e-mail address...
I HOPE he has a computer. "Google" might have prevented some of his authentication mistakes...
Why does Lou Lampson need a mouthpiece (spokesperson)?
His street-cred is melting, as we speak.
Guys,
Just to prevent any mistakes, the town Lou resides in is:
Basking Ridge, NJ. I live in NJ, right around there. Troy, just wanted to point this out so none of the correspondence people send is diverted or not received by Lou.
Actually, I understand the address is in Basking Ridge, NJ as opposed to Baskenridge.
I sent Lou a jersey two weeks ago to inspect, per instructions from Chirs Ivy at the Heritage auction house. I have not heard anything or recieved the jersey back yet. I certainly don't want to rush Lou, but am curious as to how long it will take to get my item back. I did'nt send him any payment or postage, Heritage was supposed to take care of all of that. I am glad to have Lou inspect and give opinion on my item, even though it appears that many here do not think very much of the guy. It seems to me that no matter who looks at an item, someone is quick to find fault in them. This board is an excellent tool for helping collectors, especially rookie-types such as myself. The scrutiny of the authenticators is a good thing (up to a point) in that it should make them aware, if they are not already so, how important it is to do a thorough inspection and yield a qualified opinion on the items we submit for examination or purchase. Being honest, first and foremost. Being accurate. Doing the research if neccessary. I would like to think that is the exact reason why Lou has had my jersey this long. On the other end, I don't think it is fair to the authenticators for people to bash them if they make a negative judgement on a submitted item, and then the item owner comes here to promote negative vibes, or to promote negatives for any other personal reasons. Lastly, I had a typo on my SCDA letter, I want to thank Troy and Dave for their F-A-S-T response and replacement letter. There is no doubt in my mind that they are trying very hard to do a good job. I have a large collection of autographed NFL equipment (the new authentic jerseys, pro-line helmets, wilson footballs), but am just now starting (at least trying) to collect game-worn items. If I don't go broke first, I think I might enjoy this. I am glad to find these boards and hope to meet people here who are willing to help me and share their knowledge. Byron

Since, you are a new collector, you will be wise to collect common players and bench-warmers. Star player jerseys are often forged and misrepresented.
What jersey did you send to Lampson?
Try not to be too concerned about a LOA, but more concerned about the jersey.
GOOD LUCK!
I purchased a Montana 1994 Chiefs road jersey from the recent Heritage Sports auction. It has always been one of the items that I wanted. As you suggest, it may have been wise to start with a "common" player, but I saw this particular jersey and it was something I wanted. As best as I could tell, it seems to be the real thing. The 35th anniv. kc patch and NFL 75 patches are particularly nice. Did he wear it in a game? I sure as heck hope so...that's why I wanted not one, but several "pros" to inspect it. Heritage offered opinions by three.....Bushing, Lampson, and Knoll. Dave has looked at it, and now hopefully Lou is. Will Knoll? I guess not, since he and Dave were both part of the SCDA team. I suppose it would not matter much if both of them signed the SCDA LOO. I don't have enough experience to tell if the jersey has particular wear characteristics to qualify as game-used. It looks like the real thing, and I have never seen one of these 1994 Montana jerseys on eBay before, game used or otherwise. The price was not too bad for a Montana gamer. The 49er jerseys probably sell for a lot more, since most of his greatest moments were with San Francisco. You are, in my opinion, correct about not worrying about letters. I LIKE the jersey a lot. I will display it proudly in my home. But, should I ever need to sell it, I believe the letters from both Lampson and SCDA are very important. It's just the way it is. Thanks for welcoming me to the group. I will represent here as a avid NFL collector, and look forward to learning/reading the post in the future.
"He will be receiving items at this address up to the date of August 1, 2005. He asked not to send items after that date, but all items received before that date will be processed."
Will Lou have an office with another company after that date, and somewhere else to contact him at?
It was about 3:20 AM when I posted the address. Thanks for catching the error.
Lou Lampson told me he will be relocating after the August 1 date and does not want to have items at his home when he is in the process of moving. His actual move date is September 1st.
If there are any questions regarding SCDA letters authenticated by Lou Lampson, always feel free to contact me. Questions with 100% authentic letters should be directed to the staff of American Memorabilia and Lou Lampson personal questions should be directed to Lou at the address provided.
