Repeat AMI consignor - and HAPPY!

Wow - I apparently stumbled into the midst a very disturbing agenda directed at AMI. And on my first visit to the site - lucky me! I've been consigning a wide range of items to AMI for almost two years, and have never had a problem - nor a delay in payment which was wasn't explained rationally and courteously by one of their staff... AND... after consigning with literally every major auction house in the world over the last five years, I can attest to a level of service and consideration from AMI which I've found nowhere else. Not even close. I recently had a payment delayed due to a delay in payment from the winning bidder; a major card company. I'm grown up enough to realize the participation of such high-profile bidders only works to our overall advantage and profit - why aren't you? The inconvenience of any delay under these circumstances is well offset by the additional bids and money we all enjoy via bids from such corporate bidders. That's just basic math. === Any personal and/or financial potshots taken at the principals at AMI are also WAAAY offbase. I don't know everything there is to know about Victor, but one thing is quite obvious and without question - this guy does not need your or my money to buy a house. He's got plenty of dough and doesn't need ours - which to my mind and logic has allowed him to level the playing field with other auction houses without resorting to the cheapshots and dishonorable commentary now directed at him. Victor's financial health and integrity allows him to offer a level of commitment, ethics and honesty rarely found in this high-stakes greed-driven so-called "hobby". Somebody obviously has a personal vendetta in play and an axe to grind, and I know for a fact the accusations are not accurate nor fair, hence, this post. If you have a legitimate gripe and case, post your name and the item(s) in question so we're all informed. Hiding behind a screenname and nebulous ugly hearsay is really not addressing your problem honorably or effectively - is it? I've called AMI a zillion times over the last couple years, and someone has always picked up the phone or returned my call immediately. Call them - and let us all know the result of your rational, properly directed effort.

King, don't be too surprised.

King, you seem surprised that you happened to suddenly stumble on to the website. It must be a weird coincidence because there are a number of new members who have suddenly stumbled on to the website to express their intense love for AMI and the endless success that they've had with them. The term "coming out of the wood-work" comes to mind. Just a tip - Using the name King (short for ScrabbleKING) is probably not an approach that is going to compel other forum members to use their real names.

Wow, what a coincidence! The timing is just uncanny! I can't believe you just happened to show up here to defend AMI against the sinister "agenda" being perpetrated against their fine organization! Talk about serendipity!

I can figure out which is more disturbing in these threads. The fact that auction houses are run by people this dumb, or the fact that auction houses think their customers and the collecting community are this dumb.

Tough call.

All I know is, in the words of Christopher Walken: "I got a fever, and the only cure is more Rocco!"

Aaron - - - - where to begin?

Aaron - - - - - rather than respond to each of your posts, tonight, let me just say in this one response that I think you're getting funnier with each post. Comedy circuit stuff (or is it "curcut"? - wait, now I'm confusing Joel with Rocco). Anyhow, thanks for the Grade A quality posts and the many, many laughs.

What can I say? Seeing as how I'm not an authenticator by trade, I offer my meager contribution to the forum.

Got a fan club going! Yippie! Is this the same Rocco that has "Momma's Meatballs?"
(just kidding). As a new member to these boards, I am most definately learning a lot about the game-used hobby. I think I will hang out here for a while.
